Default Letterkenny: Does the Town Just Not Have Police?

    Article here.

Having grown up in an extremely small rural community, I think the article dances around the obvious answer to its own question, namely: The town's too small to have a dedicated police force and it's sufficiently isolated and tight-knit that no one calls the provincial police unless something close to a murder occurs.

Anyone who has lived in a very small town knows that no one ever calls the police unless they absolutly have too. Plus the cops don't want to have to come all the way out there for thins like fights. Towns handle towns business.

I really don't want to be a cop that has to fight Wayne. Wayne's too busy with chorin' to be a cop, and half the people he fights end up joining his circle of friends (the other half know better than to mess around in Letterkenny).

I guess there police and fire departments is a volunteer as needed. I hope we’ll see more of the Dyck family, they are hilarious.

Having spent all my life in small towns, and being a newspaper reporter for a few of those years, I can safely say that the county law enforcement patrols these towns with regularity, especially when there are public events that include alcohol. They also are very aware of who troublemakers are and what remote areas they are likely to frequent. Residents in these areas tend to be hard core law and order conservatives who will call the sheriff on a whim. I once slid into a guy's yard on an icy street that hadn't been plowed yet, and he called the sheriff expecting me to be hauled off to jail. He got cited for a frivolous call.

The cast is largely white, and in rural Ontario. The police presence is going to be small, and I guarantee they only bother to harass First-Nations people.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

Not to look into this too deeply, but it wasn't the cops that protected the town from the Alt-Right, it was the combined forces of the Natives and the Hicks. Small towns get it done.
