It's a cool subject, but it is about half the covers ever drawn.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Rob Allen beat me to that Adam Hughes B & V cover, so I'll roll with Dan DeCarlo instead:

The most important question in paleontology: were (adult) Tyrannosaurus rexes feathered? Course, Devil Dinosaur isn't exactly a run of the mill T. rex (or a T. rex at all for that matter) but still…

I was tempted to go with their first fight, but I felt this one got more in line with the theme.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Confrontations, maybe… but face-to-face confrontations, not really. I didn’t find it so easy.

Face the face, got to face the face
Face the face, got to face the face

You must have heard the cautionary tales
The dangers hidden on the cul-de-sac trails
From wiser men who've been through it all
And the ghosts of failures spray-canned up on the wall

It feels like all the best covers have been taken already.

I'm sure I'll come up with something.
