One of my all time fave comics is DC's Arak Son Of Thunder. There really had never been anything else like it in the 80's. There's never been anything like it before or since then.

Whether or not this was the best work of The Thomases, Lofficiers, and DeZunigas is up for debate. But there's no doubt it was one of the most ambitious comics ever created and an awesome example of how the experimental/story driven comics of the 80's could do a'lot more than just cultivate sophisticated personalities and relationships.

Arak tried it's best to be a global myth. Its complex origins aren't easy to summarize, but they're all worth a closer look. The following three-part overview on Arak Son Of Thunder just appeared on the website Splice Today. Please give it a look if you're a fan of the title or any experimental DC comics.
