Well first, if you know who Kang is, knowing he's all about time travel will give you a big clue why he'd be interested in the Quantum Realm.

And two, watching the films will answer that, which is what they want in the end. And since the MCU is such a proven brand now, the general audience will likely show up.

Relying on past laurels is rarely a successful plan. "We can rely on people to come because they always come." No. That's how franchises die,

I think Kang will be a great villain for Ant Man. And I think Ant Man will handle him. That being said, there's no point to bringing in Captain Marvel and GotG because he's too much to handle.

Annihilus would be a better choice for a long term villain. He has the same Thanos consistency, when you google him you know what you're getting, and one of the things you know you're getting is the Fantastic Four

Kang isn't all about time travel. Originally, he wanted to rule the world, and he chose the 20th century to rule because his own time was dying. That's what you're likely to get when you google him. And if you googled Thanos in 2012 you were just as likely to get jokes about the Thanos copter and him getting arrested and taken away by the NYPD for trying to steal hostess pies as you were anything about the infinity gauntlet. The villain Kang has yet to show up in the MCU, at best we got Immortus kind of alluding to him at the end of Loki, but this next phase of the MCU has to set up how a multiverse will function first. We didn’t get a glimpse or even an idea of who Thanos was until the 5th MCU movie, so they’re starting earlier than they actually need to with Kang.

If you insist on being wrong I can’t stop you, but it was a pretty popular meme that became even more popular with the name recognition he got. The copter was even an Easter egg in Loki. It ultimately didn’t matter though, as the movies gave audiences all the relevant information over time.

You’re thinking of the character who was talking to Thanos. Thanos himself didn’t have any lines until guardians of the galaxy.
