The great thing is no matter what the outcome, it's Black Label and out-of-continuity.
Whatever 'continuity' means these days.
"There's magic in the sound of analog audio." - CNET.
Honestly, King is one of the only writers at DC I will give an honest chance to. I don't love everything he's written (HIC, Adam Strange, Supergirl), but the stuff of his that I have loved I've LOVED (his Batman run, Mr. Miracle, Human Target, Batman/Catwoman, Superman - Up, Up & Away).
Keep in mind that you have about as much chance of changing my mind as I do of changing yours.
Tales of the Human Target #1 Preview
Writer: Tom King
Artists: Kevin Maguire, Mikel Janin, Rafael Albuquerque and Greg Smallwood
Brother Blood is a random pull.
Skeets looks so exasperated with King's Booster.
*sigh* I mean I love the art, but Tom King has to stop playing with superheroes. He just mangles them up.
No matter what, Ice would not help murder somebody, especially somebody she KNEW, and then just walk away. And neither would Fire. And Guy has problems but he's not THAT bad.
And that's just the last issue or so.
The only issue I've liked so far is Ted's. I thought that was pretty good, but honestly... I just really hope this is never considered canon like HIC.
The only issue is even things that are considered out of cannon can become cannon if they are considered influential or critically acclaimed enough. Books like Nextwave, the Killing Joke, or The Dark Knight Returns were originally considered non-cannon but had massive influence on the cannon regardless.
I give it even odds eventually someone is going to make Adam Strange, war criminal cannon at some point this decade if he ever shows up

Dude you are worrying over nothing.
HIC was a mainline event, Human Target is a Black Label maxi-series. There is absolutely no point of comparison there beyond the fact that they both share the same writer.
Like seriously how many Black Label stories have actually looped back into effecting the main continuity? The events of King's Mister Miracle aren't ever referenced and that wasn't even a Black Label comic.
