This issue felt like it could have been an episode of Spectacular Spider-Man.

Principal Octavius holds a meeting in the auditorium about Coach Gargan no longer being at Oscot.

Peter had to attend theatre class at Oscot and Mr. Beck paired him up with Sammie Scramble (the girl from issue 1 that joined Flash in bullying Peter and Cindy). Carlie texts Peter asking if they're still going on a date later on, and Sammie snatches his phone to see how many followers he has on instagrapgh. She says he has zero, but Peter actually has 13 followers and 9 posts.

Sammie brags about how she is internet famous and has a tone of followers. This and the cover art for the next issue shown at the end of the book pretty much shout that she is this universe's Screwball. So Screwball finally gets a civilian name instead of being a nameless character or an established character like Liz Allan from the 2017 cartoon.

Mr. Beck allows Peter to leave but requires that Sammie stay behind. And Peter realizes that Sammie still has his phone and that's when Mysterio appears. Mysterio's design is just his classic appearance. He uses his gas and illusion tech to fight Peter, and he actually gets the upper hand against him.

During the fight Peter accidentally injuries Carlie and Mysterio escapes. Peter feels bad about what happened and promises to himself to do better next time.

The book ends with Octavius revealing that Mysterio takes a serum to keep himself linked with his illusion tech, and Octavius declares that they are going to capture Spider-Man. Next issue is the debut of Screwball.

The only negative about this issue is that the artist kind of exaggerated some of the faces too much just as they did in issue 1.
