According to his profile on the uncannyxmen fan site which i trust a bit more than just the marvel wiki or handbook (the people curating that site have a history of doing their job well and knowing their continuity):

"- Energy manipulation powers enable him to warp existing energy signatures to his benefit, divert hazardous energies away from his position, or sample and recreate the same kind of energy with his own powers, including overriding another mutant's control of their energy-based abilities or duplicating those power signatures for himself for feats such as telekinesis, concussive blasts, inter- and intra-dimensional teleportation, etc.
- Matter manipulation powers allow him to alter the state of matter between solid, liquid, and gas, transpose the molecules of one object into another, animate and reshape raw materials into simple or complex forms, even creating mobile constructs that resemble independent living beings"

Basicly.
He is one of these characters were the writers have given him so many parts to his powers, that it becomes difficult to tell what his powers are supposed to be and at this point he can do what ever the plot requires with just a slight adjustment to what the writer can remember or has read about what his powers are roughly supposed to be, but without being a straight up reality warper. Like with Apocalypse.

Yep. Or Exodus, or Vulcan, or Legion, etc. Something to do with reality, which can mean anything.

Yeah, Piotr has not had the greatest stories. Even Lord Claremont could not be bothered to give him much focus.

Taking down Proteus.

Illyana.

Mutant Massacre roles.

Falling for Callisto and being controlled by Shadow King.

Colossusnaut is pretty much the most noteworthy to me because it came with a visual and power upgrade. But even then was handled generically.

Got some progress from the neck up..but the neck down is still stuck in the 70s

Wholly agree.I'd like to see him wear his Gala costume regularly, with a few pops of color of yellow & red on the pants or vest.

I want him to remain a bastion of actualized masculinity by doing more 90’s style feats of autonomous body reclamation-like wearing negligees. Seeing bearded Colossus wearing women’s negligees just because he likes it and it having zero to do with his sexuality other than maybe turning on Domino- should be a thing. Please god let him wear a series of nighties while battling his older brother.

Also- thank god Mikhail is returning as a big bad. I just hope he’s not another 2 dimensional bearded bad bro like all the other X-men’s bearded bad brothers who talk like pompous nitwits and wear boring clothes and whose only pathos is that they aren’t their X-men sibling counterpart. We need to see both Colossus AND Illyana on this to take him down and a proper forging of Clan Rasputin.

Selene taught him how to make all the inanimate objects in his home do the choreography to ‘Be Our Guest’ from Beauty and the Beast. It got him through the lonely years in that pocket dimension.

Lad needs a power upgrade and a well-earned nasty streak.

He doesn’t need a power upgrade, the writers and artists just have to remember just how damn strong he is.
