Default DC Comics October 2021 Solicitations

    https://www.cbr.com/dc-comics-solici...-october-2021/

Here we go, looks like DC comics got the trains fixed as this is the second month in a row that solicitations came out on time. I'm excited so lets get talking and seeing what future readers may be checking out.

    Thoughts:

    1. Did Checkmate go ongoing? It's no longer listed as a mini-series in the solicits. Also I guess Bendis is doing Checkmate vs Justice League, not sure how that works out honestly.
    2. I guess Batman and Fortnite did well, didn't expect Snyder
    3. I actually really like Jason Todd's armor look for Task Force Z
    4. I'll have to gauge interest in the vampires. I am a DCeased fanboy but this is a different creative team and concept, so its a wait and see
    5. Is Taylor doing the whole government kidnaps the kents again? It worked in Injustice but not sure about with Jon
    6. Only the second issue and we've already lost Coipel on I am Batman, dang

Anyway I'll be reading the following
    I am Batman
    Superman: son of kal-el
    Wondergirl
    Green Lantern
    Swamp Thing
    Aquaman: the becoming
    Teen Titans Academy
    Robin
    Mister Miracle (last issue)
    Flash

Not sure why Checkmate would suddenly be an on-going, but who knows.
A shame that Nubia and The Amazons is only going to be 6 Issue Mini. I hoped it would be more.
Good to see Roy is going to say hello to the Titans.
I hope there'll be a little more information on Titans United soon. I would like to care for it but I don't.

    Picking up for sure:
    Catwoman
    Green Lantern
    Nubia and The Amazons
    Wonder Woman
    Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary
    Wonder Woman Historia

Wonder Girl hasn't been a mini-series since it got properly announced in the May solicitations.

The cover to Suicide Squad #8 has a pretty big spoiler for a certain character that was probably going to be revealed in the September-releasing annual that is going to focus on said character.

DC is putting out a lot more titles that I am interested in for the longest time. And for the first time, hardly any of it is from the main Bat-Line.

-Arkham City: The Order of the World
    -Batman: Urban Legends
    -The Human Target
    -Action Comics
    -Aquaman: The Becoming
    -Black Manta
    -Checkmate
    -Robin
    -Suicide Squad: King Shark
    -Teen Titans Academy
    -Wonder Girl

Probably gonna have to wait for some to come on DCUI for my wallet's sake.
It's the Dynamic Duo! Batman and Robin!... and Red Robin and Red Hood and Nightwing and Batwoman and Batgirl and Orphan and Spoiler and Bluebird and Lark and Gotham Girl and Talon and Batwing and Huntress and Azreal and Flamebird and Batcow?

Since when could just anybody do what we trained to do? It makes it all dumb instead of special. Like it doesn't matter anymore.
    -Dick Grayson (Batman Inc.)

The Batman glut continues. I don't follow any of the books, but if I did, all these new characters like peacekeeper and his duplicate, ghost maker, punchline, etc. would be a real turnoff for me. It's hard to follow all the new people and wonder what role they play in the books.

    I'll be picking up;
    Nightwing
    Batman: Reptilian
    Swamp thing
The Nice House on the Lake

    Maybe;
    Justice League

Nubia's not a mini either, the cover just says 1, not 1 of X like a mini would.

Really, I missed that. Well, it was the right choice given how well the first issue sold.

Excluding reprints and collected editions, we're at 37 books with a Bat-character vs. 33 without. An almost 50/50 split.

Can even the great Batman survive market over-saturation? Find out next week! Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel!!
Last Read: Aquaman & The Flash: Voidsong

Monthly Pull List: Alan Scott: The Green Lantern, Birds of Prey, Daredevil, Geiger, Green Arrow, Justice Ducks, Justice Society of America, Negaduck, Nightwing, Phantom Road, Shazam!, Suicide Squad: Dream Team, Thundercats, Titans

Forgot to mention: Very happy that the Wight Witch is on a Catwoman cover again. I'm ready to learn more about her, and I hope she stays around.

You can live in denial, but it doesn't change the fact.

After last month's totality of final issues and one-shots, this month marks a new beginning for my DC buying.

Human Target #1 (It's a Tom King 12 issue series, generally pretty safe bets in my book)
Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary (I actually prefer the main cover here which is rare among the plethora of variants DC's anniversary issues usually spawn.)
I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?

Looks like Human Target is an advance solicit. The copy has a release date of 11/2.
