i really fond on the Reeder and Chiang variant covers,
i don't like much bartell's final product.
Some of the creators are already teasing their stories:
- Cloonrad are on a Steve story tieing into their run.
- Orlando is on a story featuring "Diana and the Wonder Women who have stood beside" her with Braga and Fajardo Jr. (I hope Orlando means the prominent Amazons that don't yet have a confirmed appearance.)
- An action-adventure by Phillips, Takara, and Maiolo.
- Ayala is working with Goodhart.
- And there will of course be a Nubia prologue by Williams, Ayala, and Martinez.
That's the only time someone mange to make me like the 90s bondage costume. I guess because without seeing the front it looks tamer
I like the Bartell, Reeder, and Chiang covers.
That's not a good likeness of Carter in the 70s variant.
Larger looks of the variants courtesy of Gaius in the other thread:
I'm so down for a Steve story from Cloonrad. Give us beefcake and a reason to care, please.
Does the Wonder Women who have stood beside her refer to Donna, Cassie, Hippolyta, Nubia, Artemis, Phillipus, or other Amazons or other DC superheroines like Black Canary and Power Girl and Vixen? I mean, I love the getting-the-ladies stories anyway so I'm game regardless. Plus, Orlando's run got cut so short just for some shitty Tamaki tie-in arc so it's always nice to see him back writing Diana.
And it's cool that Stephanie Phillips and Vita Ayala each on their own individual stories but also as co-writers for a Nubia story. It's so exciting to have so many women and non-binary people working on the Wonder Woman corner of the DC universe and this renaissance is both long overdue and wholly appreciated.
Women, BIPOC, and queer creators on WW feels good and right, especially for her 80th anniversary.
Then there's Waid and King lol.
I just realized that Amy Reeder wrote the Etta Candy story in Black& Gold. Now I'm really hyped for her Anniversary story.
