I simply don't agree. They may have all they need, but they could still get things they would want or like. And I don't think wanting unnecessary things is bad, so I think that's a gain.

I mean it depends if they have to deal with threats and I feel like with Doom Gate would make them more on their toes. Not only that but what if at first they were an uncharted Island but than made tech to not be in this realm. That the first time the Doom Gate opened they weren't ready to fight with their swords and ancient weapons. So they learned how to create stronger weapons.
