By the time I got Excalibur, Colossus, Pete Wisdom and Douglock were in the book. I missed a lot.

The original Claremont run. 16 years, I think.

The first dozen issues of Lee/Kirby.
The Roy Thomas/Neal Adams short run.
Giant Size X-Men #1 until the last Byrne issue.
The beginning of the New Mutants until the Secret Wars II tie ins.
    That's about it.

I would love a revival of this team in some fashion.

The early 90s. X Factor as public heroes, the world thinking the X Men are dead and the New Mutants turned into soldiers.

I don't have a specific era, like different stories just make me feel different things no matter who is on the team but Operation Zero Tolerance holds a special place in my heart. The scene with Storm/Juggernanunt at the mansion. The scene of Scott/Jean with the bomb, the pink phoenix signature. I felt that was a prime example of how the x-men are a family with powers.

Agreed. Loved how Warren didn't re-join X-Factor right away. But instead, they took their time and slowly brought him back...

Agreed. The Outback Era had several memorable moments (IMHO):

Agreed. The time between Liefeld's debut on New Mutants & the start of X-Force was certainly action-packed (IMHO):

I think it's easy to think back to when you first started reading the comics and consider that your favourite era. In my case it would be circa X-tinction Agenda, when the X-Men were effectively a non-team. But if I reflect on all the different incarnations of the past, nothing beats the simplicity of the Uncanny X-Men + New Mutants combo, pre-X-Factor. One core book and one school book, before the line went all spin-off crazy and crossover crazy.

For me it's the OG Claremont stuff, the Morrison run, the Carey run and the current Hickman run. They're all great.

If you're referring to the run from the '90s, then I concur. The combination of hilarity & pathos has never been so exhilarating (IMHO):

My favorite time for all comics remains the 90's.

Certain era's also include satellites of that time in my previous post I guess. But I wanted to fucus on the actual X-Men.
