This honestly. It’s when the books were most exciting to me. Probably everything from X-Tinction Agenda through AoA, or maybe through OZT which was just after AOA.

The Morrison New X-men era is probably a close second, followed by the Messiah War trilogy period (Messiah Complex through Second Coming), then the Outback years and finally right now as we get to the second part of Reign of X with adult Cable having just come back.

So those are my Top 5 in order.

there may have been terrible stories and bad plots, but the 90's x-men is my favorite. It's when I started reading them and will always have a place in my heart

    - Claremont´s Original X-men run: There´s no much left to say. I liked some parts of his second run but not as much as the first one.
    - Fabian Nicieza and Scott Lobdell early 90´s run( they are under appreciated but I liked the family feel and character focused stories they gave to the X-men and they are also responsible for my favorite crossover ever Age of Apocalypse)
    - Astonishing X-men by Whedon: It´s just a very good and contained X-men story with a classic and modern take on characters like Scott, Emma, Kitty, Logan and Colossus.
    - Mike Carey X-men and X-men legacy run: He sell the Utopia and decimation era for me and finally mixed the old Claremont style storytelling with a more modern feel of stories.
    - Cullen Bunn Magneto solo series: He had a darker take on Magneto than Claremont or Carey but him as a punisher figure during decimation years makes sense.
    - Krakoa era:
    - HoX/PoX: from Hickman it was an good reset bottom to send them to another era but the story is still on going and I would have liked his X-men main title to be as good as this first miniseries from him.
    - SWORD: I think Ewing is really taking advantage of the Krakoa era and doing an excellent work connecting the X-men back into the main marvel universe.
-Marauders: I like some issues of Duggan and others not so much but the team is very good if he manages to balance more stories focused on characters different than Emma or Kitty, it would be even better.

    • For X-Men, definitely everything before Logan's adamantium loss:

    • For Excalibur, definitely the era involving Alan Davis (both as artist and/or writer):

    • For New Mutants, definitely the DeFilippis/Weir run (2003-2004):

    In this order:
1st: 80's - '93...starting with the exquisite Claremont/Paul Smith run and including New Mutants, X-Factor, Excalibur.
    2nd: The Morrison run...not that era/years specifically.
    3rd: This HiX-Man era...starting with HoX/PoX and continuing.

Claremont's run has a special place in my heart but I have more and more affection for Carey's (way too underrated (and superior to the overrated Morrison's))

Another awesome run. Loved that team, the writing, the crazy art from Bachalo/Ramos… all of it.

the animated series era would you call it? the GOLD and BLUE teams. from about X-Tinction Agenda on to X-Cutioners song got me in

the Age of Apocalypse era got me hooked. the time when there were 8 titles and long lasting. especially Gen X and X-Man were good.

going back the Claremont era especially the Outback stuff was definitely good.

also a mention to the DeFillipis/Weir New Mutants/Academy X stuff. a good light fun school book that got ruined by decimation.
