The way I NEVERRRRRRR want to see that tired, gaudy mansion and it’s mildew-stained walls again. I just know the carpet STANKS like Xavier’s old colostomy bag and the bathrooms like leather and ballsweat.

Claremont’s era, of course…
They were adventures around the world and beyond, the X-men were good people fighting bad people, whatever their DNA. And it was high on emotion.
“Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.” Goethe
post-Dark Phoenix Claremont until he was removed from the book. Plus adjacent X-titles during that time period.
Silvestri through the Jim Lee era, Outback X-men, Inferno, to the Image relaunch, Portachio on Uncanny, Silvestri on Wolvie, Liefeld on X-Force, Lee on X-Men and the relaunched X-Factor helmed by Peter David. This is when the X franchise had the most books that I was very interested in at the same time.
It's definitely the whole Claremont era for me. You can see the whole thing fall off a cliff for the rest of at least the 90s from the instant his name is gone off the cover. You can't recreate accidental alchemy by throwing as many titles, writers and artists at the problem as possible.
Dividing the Claremont era into several "eras", otherwise I'd say UXM 94-280. If I took 94-138 (epilogue to DPS,) 139-210 (through the post DPS to the prologue to the first major crossover, Mutant Massacre) and the Claremont crossover era of 211-280 I'd go with the "era" of 211-280, even if the other eras had more iconic stories.
The Claremont n friends era.
"Kids don't care **** about superhero comic books. And if they do, they probably start with manga, with One Punch-Man or My Hero Academia. " -ImOctavius.
