Part of it for me are his powers. Swinging around, building to building, roof top to roof top is a lot different in Manhattan than any other US city.

Plus, the bigger the city, the more threats there can be for a guy who has to work in a localized space.

Major Mapleleaf, New York City.

Kind of a Due South scenario where MM (and his faithful horse Thunder) comes to NYC (instead of Chicago) to investigate the murder of someone close to him, and winds up staying in America after discovering corruption in the RCMP and becoming persona non grata.

Play his earnest aw shucks persona against various New York based characters both heroes and villains.
I’d want him to operate in a somewhat official capacity, and have a partner/liaison on the Police Force but not sure who that would be.

William Lamont would be an absolutely delightful foil to Major Mapleleaf.

As someone not from USA Peter and NYC go hand in hand for me.
The buildings and powers aside, the people, the atmosphere and the lifestyle.It's all NYC.

I would think a mini or spin-off of the Avengers being based in Washington, DC. I could see an interesting political thriller with the members who served in the armed forces (Captain Marvel, Captain America, etc.) or those who worked closely (Iron Man).

• Iron-man definitely needs to head back to the West Coast. That or Miami.
• Punisher should operate across the entire United States.
• Moon Knight should head back to Chicago (It's where he was born/raised).
• Cap should head to Washington DC for a bit.
• Anti-Venom/Flash worked in Philadelphia I feel.
• Eddie should go back to San Francisco.

When I thought about Mapleleaf in NYC i also pictured Code Blue in a standoff w. some villain, and Mapleleaf shows up on his horse which would get a “WTF” reaction from the team.
And maybe sticking around to help Damage Control clean up, after.
