I read some of the initial stories on Genis, but after a while it just got too complicated, Phyla, etc.

I like the concept and probably originally at least, one of the best ways to sorta bring back CM.

I'm cool with this. Hopefully he stays around.

A Genis-Vell one-shot is coming out in November:

    https://aiptcomics.com/2021/08/04/ma...november-2021/

Genis-Vell: Marvel Tales #1 (written by Peter David with artwork by Chriscross)

"Meet the son of the greatest warrior the galaxy has ever known! Spawned in a test tube, Genis-Vell now struggles to fill the boots of his late father Mar-Vell — the original Kree Captain Marvel," announced the publisher. Playing up some of the comedic elements of the story, which derive from Genis' unique relationship with Rick Jones, Marvel commands, "Get ready for Peter David and Chriscross' hilarious saga featuring the Hulk, Wendigo, Moondragon…and Rick's estranged wife, Marlo!"

Awesome! Looking forward to the return of Peter David & ChrisCross!

And no matter what, I'll always love the Carlos Pacheco updated version (because, it's so cool):

Cover by Carlos Pacheco who also drew Genis in the Avengers Forever series.

I'm glad to see Genis coming back. Even if it's only for this short appearance. Though I would love for him to stick around longer.

Yeah, he'll just be used as a crutch to drive home the point that Carol is the bestest and most Captainest Marvel ever.

Me too. No one but Peter David could make insanity sound so cool.

Wow, it's taken nearly 17 something years for Genis to come back, but wow, he's here. Very glad to see him. I collected PAD's Captain Marvel run back in late 90s/early 2000s and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was deep, thought-provoking, yet hilarious as well. Just wish Crisscross was back as the artist.

Looking forward to banging those bands again with Marv and Rick!

LOL! Couldn't have said it better myself. Too bad it's only a five-issue epic, though...
