Am I only one who finds the idea of the villain rather interesting?

Sure, and figuring out who he is, what his motivation is, what his methods are, makes this largely a detective story at this point, and that's my fave kind of Batman story.

I think there's a chance the villain will be revealed to be part of the rogues gallery, btw.

Seeing the penguin with a mustache was weird.

So I can definitely see how this series would be a bit of a turnoff to certain fans but I think it serves as an interesting counterpoint to Tynion's run.

Tynion seems to be making an effort to break Bruce away from the aloof loner stereotype he's become with all the emphasis on the batfamily stuff. Meanwhile Ennis is like let's take all that weird messed up stuff about Batman and turn the dial up to eleven.

Good point, not everyone is a fan of batfamily concept so I'm glad that we have stuff like this and Taylor's/Kubert's Detective.

I liked this issue more than the first one. Batman being a sassy bitch and just passive aggressively duct taping Freeze's leaking helmet was the best part. As was him basically saying "I really don't give a **** about Killer Moth."

Also sort of interesting that he reacted a bit more compassionately/unnerved towards Ivy, at least in comparison to everyone else.
