But perhaps the funding can come from several places, both public and private, to prevent them being beholden to any one group

They could also have Pym sell some patents or something and fund it with Wasp and Antman on the team.

Or Wakanda can pay and have someone from BP 2 on however they handle that.

They are going to be in the Eternals movie as well. Sersi is a member of that immortal group. The Black Knight ( Dane Witman) is a hero who took over the mantle of his formerly evil uncle. He's been in and out of the Avengers for years, but never became a big name. No clue if they're going to change his back story in the new film.

Power wise, he sounds a bit too plain. But I'm not really familiar with his personality
