Which 90s Scorsese mob flick do you prefer?
I'd go with neither, watching them they both feel almost like parodies of gangster films. If we're talking the best 90's gangster flick period I'd go with Edward James Olmos' American Me. Not only did it have a much more gritty, realistic feel but it had heart too.
Goodfellas is better, IMO.
"So you've come to the end now alive but dead inside."
Along this line...
In addition to that film not just being the "Clown Shoes..." version of where a life in crime will actually get you, King Of New York is also better than either of these films when it comes to the reality of it and being invested in the characters.
Everyone is going to say Goodfellas but think casino is by far the better movie.
I think Casino is easily the better film, more fun to watch, and more satisfying too. Sharon Stone was EVERRRRYTHING!
"We are Shakespeare. We are Michelangelo. We are Tchaikovsky. We are Turing. We are Mercury. We are Wilde. We are Lincoln, Lorca, Leonardo da Vinci. We are Alexander the Great. We are Fredrick the Great. We are Rustin. We are Addams. We are Marsha! Marsha Marsha Marsha! We so generous, we DeGeneres. We are Ziggy Stardust hooked to the silver screen. Controversially we are Malcolm X. We are Plato. We are Aristotle. We are RuPaul, god dammit! And yes, we are Woolf."
