I wholeheartedly agree!Of all of the consortium of writer's during this era,Al is definitely the one that deserves to have an Uncanny title. The world building, character development, nods to continuity, fresh take on powers & abilities & an awesome display of inventiveness using the synergy of powers to obtain a new material that'll change the economy on a universal scale. He is becoming the quintessential writer of the decade IMO.I have followed him since his Mighty Avengers run and from that to Ultimates, Uncanny X-Men,Immortal Hulk,GOTG and it seems his writing just gets better with time like a fine wine.If Marvel were only releasing one book during this era,S.W.O.R.D. would be it & I'd be wholly satisfied(not true but quality trumps quantity to me).Not only does Ewing deserve a proper Uncanny title, changing it would definitely keep this book far away from cancellation fears.

What does that have to do with Ewing taking over the reigns.

With Hickmann and Ewing they're pretty similar writers so a Changing of the Guard wouldn't affect the Xbooks too much I do think Ewing has a leg up on Hickman in the characterization Department and writing diverse cast not to mention if we consider his Immortal Hulk run he's very much comfortable working outside of the usual sci-fi box that he's put in.

I was mentioning how writers like (Al Ewing or Rosenberg) are stuck with the past of deriving similar stories from Annhilation vice versa. It's funny because it's actually true.

Ewing has done several self contained stories though. He's not someone who needs a massive tapestry.

I was talking about cosmic. Ewing Ultimates was like oh lets make Black Panther Marvel's Batman and job Thanos or Galactus. Other than Immortal Hulk, his books are filled with fillers of tie ins of events which were supposedly not his own. Thats not self contained Also cosmic comics is too oversaturated atm. Characters like Venom or Black Panther who were supposed to be street to mid tier are now god level and making galactic empires. Either way Giffen is crčme de la crčme and Ewing can't touch him in million years.

now why would a character introduced as the king of a country be limited to ‘street-lvl’ or ‘mid-tier’? Doom gets to rule worlds, kill gods, and have the ‘rule of cool’ get him out of nearly any unbelievable circumstance. Where’s the hate for him? Or was he not a street-lvl character for you?

imho, his Mighty Avengers and Ultimates are way better than that DnA run lmao. It feels like the nostalgia factor of that event (mostly because of scenes like Nova, sadly another street-lvl hero, ripping out Annihilus’ innards) has stopped anything substantial or additive from happening in Marvel Cosmic. Ewing’s different and you can tell from how knitted together this has all been, so far.

Ok let's see. Are you telling me that Thanos who is consistently
been one of the biggest prep specialists which are over universal level is notingly inferior than Black Panther. Because he is king of earlthly slumber. Give me a break. Dr Doom has been tied in to FF mythos. He is the big bad of space-earthly superheroes since from the start. It actually makes sense for him to rule the multiverse.
Most of the Ewing books are oversaturated by other events compared to the Abnett. So imho I don't really care what you say, because he is inconsistent.
Nova absorbed the world mind of Xandar that gave him incredible boost of power. Either way a large chunk of Annihilation was written by Giffen. I was comparing him to Ewing but since you are just here to rant against my opinion and its undeniably impossible for Ewing to even compare with him . I don't really care what you say after this. I am leaving this as my last comment.

You’ve gotta be joking right? Where do you think Black Panther first appeared? Great Lake Avengers???

If it became Uncanny X-men, led by Storm as Regent of Sol, it would basically be the off-world equivalent of Duggan’s Earth-bound X-men team. Which IMO could work quite nicely. And the title change to UXM would certainly help sales. I’m thinking Al Ewing (writer), Valerio Schiti/Iban Coello (artists), Dave Finch (variant covers) and a cast consisting of Storm, Cable, Manifold, Armor, Frenzy and Risque; with a large supporting cast (Abigail Brand, Whiz Kid, Peepers, Mentallo, etc.). I’d buy the hell out of that book.
