Not a good start

After Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, no way am ai going to a theater to see this.
The first movie is classic, and Exorcist III: Legion is really surprisingly good. That's all you really need. And that's really all you can do, there's tons of other exorcism movies and after a certain point, nothing in thr original franchise is going to standout from its ripoffs. The brought back Regan's mom...I'm sorry buy I don't think anyone cares. She's no Laurie Strode.
I would say that a prequel about Father Merrin could be interesting...but then I remember they tried it twice and they were both awful.
Some Exorcist news...
Back in January it was reported that "Michael" [Michael Jackson biopic] is slotting into the date previously held by “The Exorcist: Deceiver,” which was removed from Universal’s upcoming theatrical schedule along with news that director David Gordon Green had exited the project. The “Exorcist” sequel was originally slated for Apr. 18, 2025, but has been put on hold indefinitely as Universal and Blumhouse begin the search for a new director.
Well apparently on May 2nd, it was reported that Mike Flanagan In Talks To Direct Next ‘Exorcist’ Movie For Blumhouse, Universal
I'm one of the few who liked "Believer" but in spite of itself. It probably would have been better if they kept the same premise but had a different director. The only thing I'm familiar with Flanagan for is Doctor Sleep (sequel to The Shining), and I loved that movie, so this is probably a good match.
