Yes, but the accounts are Chapek has surrounded himself with yes men. Odds are, if he goes, they will be sent with him.
But his job depends on the overall success of Disney, and this is a hiccup in the big picture. He could remain there for years. He does sound like an ******* though, even Iger doesn't like him, and puts this trouble at his feet.

She is very well off (reports of net worth over $100 million) so even if she is passed over for big studio movies, she can do smaller, independent films with more "serious acting rolls".
And Lucy 2 looks like it is still happening.
The thing about this dust up is the public seems to be on her side, so it won't hurt her B.O. appeal.

Honestly I wish both parties would stop the public mudslinging and just settle this affair in private. The only thing that we should be hearing about is the settlement.

Without the bad PR for Disney, there would be no settlement.

This is literally Apple vs Epic all over again at this point. Whatever the case though I doubt Scarlet will do anything with Disney again, and indeed Disney likely won't want her anyway. The biggest worry now is whether this affects other MCU stars, especially female, to threaten walking out once their contracts are up, or worse get Kevin out. Those are the situations which are likely to force Disney's hand.

SAG-AFTRA President On Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’ Lawsuit: “Disney Should Be Ashamed”
“Disney should be ashamed of themselves for resorting to tired tactics of gender-shaming and bullying,” Carteris said in a statement. “Actors must be compensated for their work according to their contracts. Scarlett Johansson is shining a white-hot spotlight on the improper shifts in compensation that companies are attempting to slip by talent as distribution models change. Nobody in any field of work should fall victim to surprise reductions in expected compensation. It is unreasonable and unjust. Disney and other content companies are doing very well and can certainly live up to their obligations to compensate the performers whose art and artistry are responsible for the corporation’s profits.”

She added: “Additionally, we are deeply concerned by the gendered tone of Disney’s criticism of Ms. Johansson. Women are not ‘callous’ when they stand up and fight for fair pay – they are leaders and champions for economic justice. Women have been victimized by pay inequity for decades, and they have been further victimized by comments like those in Disney’s press statements. These sorts of attacks have no place in our society and SAG-AFTRA will continue to defend our members from all forms of bias.”

And the second point they raise? I think a lot of people criticizing the lawsuit should read that closely and reflect on their comments.

Not surprised. Can you imagine if they settled or if Scarlett won? Then every actor can demand a cut of the streaming earnings. That would be a costly disaster for Disney and Streaming companies in general.

They can't afford to set such a precedent.

I am pretty sure the point is they can afford it and ought to be paying it. In any case, nothing either side says in public matters a hill of beans. No lawyer expects public comments to be carried over into private negotiations.

If Disney thinks they will lose, they are going to put up a tough public face but will settle out of court. It doesn't matter if they win an expensive lawsuit if they have to endure 3 or 4 more. Eventually they will lose and they will also have suffered the cost of all those legal expenses. Settling is in their best business interest and the board of clevis will force the administrators to settle of nothing else will cause it. Them there will be a public announcement about how Disney believes it was correct but is very happy to have settled this amicably with ScarJo and looks forward to working with her in the future because she's such a great talent.

There is no way this makes it through the court system. Neither side is prepared to take this to the Supreme Court for financial reasons, which is where not settling would eventually lead.

It’s chump change, they are mult-billion dollar companies.

You don't understand the wealthy or large corporations. There is never enough money and workers, whether grunts or stars always make too much.

    Disney is known as Mousewitz.

I never heard any of these companies complaining about grunts and stars making to much money. However, these companies are ruthless a**h***s who seems to try to cheat it’s workers. Paying ScarJo what she believes is owed is not going to make a dent in Disney’s pocket, but they fight her anyway.

The only response I have seen is from Disney's lawyer saying "It is obvious that this is a highly orchestrated PR campaign to achieve an outcome that is not obtainable in the lawsuit,” Petrocelli said. “No amount of public pressure can change or obscure the explicit contractual commitments. The written contract is clear as a bell.”
