Much as I like some of the cast, I wish the producers had shown the nerve to completely get rid of everyone except Oliver and his son. Starting over without those characers would have give this series a much needed kick in the pants.
First time I been hyped for an Arrow season in a long time. Will be curious to see how things go.
I'm a little skeptical about Curtis being able to throw his T-sphere at a ballistic missle and it catch up.

Did they call this guy Faust? Yup it's Faust but it's Alex Faust instead of Felix. It's never easy with these people

Bye Thea, you were too beautiful for this verse.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
See she's not dead. She's not not dead either though. Hello Slade

Sure is hard for a crime fighter to maintain their secret identity so anyway a moment of silence to the death of Oliver's career as mayor.
I thought this was a better done episode than the debuts for FLASH and SUPERGIRL--but I still didn't like it. They did a good job setting up the tension and keeping the plot going. Maybe as they don't have to spend so money on CGI like the other shows, they can put that to use in better stunts and locations shoots. I think that scene on the viaduct was the one where they beat out DEADPOOL 2 for the location.
But what killed my interest was the predictable resolution to the end of season cliffhanger. They had the opportunity to do something different but they just trotted out the same tropes as always.
The one thing I really did enjoy was the scenes with Slade and Oliver--there's just something magic that happens when those two get together. However, that's not enough to make me hopeful for the rest of this season. And the last scene was so weak and tired, it gave me a sinking feeling.
I liked the premiere. It seems everyone from the Island expect Artemis was accounted for. I remember Slade saying someone went for the girl in the cage but no confirmation if she's still alive. Predictably William's mom is the only causality. The show wouldn't have the balls to kill off Thea. That would one death Ollie wouldn't be able to recover from if it were to ever happen. When she does recover I would like to see her be the cool aunt to William. The kid will need it.
I like Renee's new costume. Someone like him could have used an armored costume.
I'm not getting John's PTSD. He's been in a lot of life or death situations before so I don't understand why the island exploding is so traumatic to him. Unless everything that's happened to him for the past six seasons are finally catching up to him I'm going to have trouble buying into it.
