    Admittedly, the only information I really have about The Burglar is from Amazing Fantasy 15. So I only know that Uncle Ben "surprised him". Which I figure might not have happened if he didn't hesitate for a split second when he saw Spider-Man, that second could have been long enough to avoid the confrontation with Ben. As for the takings, The Burglar refers to him as "that freak in the costume", so I don't think he knows about "The spider man", but different timelines could have different interpretations.
