Azzarellos' take on Jason is certainly at odds with the way he's being handled in the main continuity mainly due to not being in good terms with Bruce but since is an Elseworld that is a minor flaw. And even if it weren't an elseworld is still heads and shoulders better than Zdarsky's take on Urban Legends.

Well, there's a difference between a vigilante who extra-judicially takes on drug-dealers and serial killers, and someone who participates in a siege on the Capitol due to political reasons.

Leaving that aside, the problem is that by making Wild Dog an insurrectionist, in the current climate they've basically coded him as the 'bad guy'. Someone who, a significant section of readers, might actually regard as worse than the actual super-villains on the Squad!

Yes, people in Suicide Squad are usually bad guys.

Never mind that it has historically been a title with a political slant.

    Fair enough.

Though I dunno, it strikes me as not that far off for Wild Dog. I thought I remember his 80s bio as being a guy who fought things like the evils of pornographers (wow, he lost that war). So a right slant to him isn't that far off.

That said, it probably won't be the end of him as a good guy. Hawk survived running guns for the contras, and trying to sterilize Mexico City.
