Default Justice League Vol. 3 and Vol. 4

So I have some questions about these two Justice League volumes.

How was Hitch's Justice League? From what I remember it continued the story from his New 52 JLA book. Was it any good?

Fourth volume focused a lot on whatever Snyder was doing, but it had few filler arcs by Venditti, Spurrier and Loveness. Were those any good? How they'd compare to their other work?

Hitch's JL, from what I remember, had a few okay arcs but you're not missing anything by skipping it.

Venditti's run was solid (although it featured a really weird take on the Amazons) and Suprrier's story probably had the best use of Wonder Woman in a JL run in a really long time.

I'm definitely interested in Spurrier's JL. His work on The Dreaming and Hellblazer have made me a fan for life.

I honestly don't think I've read the ongoing Justice League title since Dwayne MacDuffie. It always sounds so hum drum.

Hitch's run is a little underrated. People didn't love the art, which I understand because it was a step down from the previous run. The characterizations were more balanced, and everyone felt like an equal member of the team, which was not the case previously. However, the storylines were just okay.

There was the story with Rao and that future storyline. Then I think there was some alien invasion. Some heroes got moments, and Cyborg felt more like an equitable team member, but it's not a super memorable run outside of that. Between the art style and the so-so storylines, most tend to forget it.

Vendetti's run is very forgettable, and that is putting it nicely.

Thanks, I guess I'll be adding Spurrier's issues to my to-read list. Nobody read Loveness issues?

For a Black Mercy storyline involving the League, it's solid.

I enjoyed Spurrier's issues, rare good usage of WW in a main League comic.

I didn't much care for Vendetti's issues with his usage of the Spectre and characterizations of the Amazons.

What was bad in particular about his Amazons?

They immediately treat Diana and the League as hostile just because Diana brought men over to Themyscira and act like they're moments away from attacking Diana, which doesn't really track with how the Amazons were depicted since Rebirth.

What does WW do in this story?

Hitch’s run… the Rebirth relaunch? Horribly boring. Would not recommend.

Spurrier? She's the dissenting voice talking sense to the League's ideas of inserting themselves into an alien culture.

Spurrier’s arc? Main character essentially the facts as the opposition voice to the League taking over an alien planet.

Given stuff like Injustice it was actually pretty refreshing for a League story where she was presented on the right side of the argument vs Bats and Supes.
