They're just giving a yellow ring to a popular Lantern, so she isn't depowered while the rest of the corps is, and the new kid on the block can shine as the only official GL.

ConnEr Kent flies. ConnOr Hawke has a bow. Batman's kid is named DamiAn.

Yeah, the GL franchise has been going through the same cycle of destruction and rebuilding since Englehart. You'd think DC would want to try another tune at this point.

Honest question : with Dc wanting to bring in the United Planets in the current continuity (which is great IMHO, and Earth doesn't even have to be part of such an organization), do the GL Corps even have a place left ? They're all great and all but their powers are all the same and maybe it's backfiring on them now that DC seems intent on developing their cosmic side.

I wonder if DC will use this to pare down the number of earth Lanterns. Rather than get rid of anyone straight away, they destroy the Corps, set off the various characters on their own paths and then reform the GLC with fewer earthers where the ones they ditch aren't killed off, and aren't abandoned, they've just got other things going on already that could lead to other stories of their own? Who knows...

Well in first issue they did say that GLs will stop operating in sectors that UP operates in so that kinda answers your question, no?

    Agreed!!!!

I am reading this book PRIMARILY for John in priority.

Jo, Jess and Baz also have my keen interest

Teen GL should be removed entirely or relegated to the background

Thorne has been saying that nobody is safe, so who knows, right? It would certainly be a lot more dramatic to dust someone we've been following and watching develop in this story rather than random GLs.

    Does it, though?

Is the new UP big enough to span multiple space sectors (keeping in mind that each sector probably has, extremely conservatively, more than a million galaxies in it)? 'Cause it seems very Milky Way-centric at the moment (Thanagarians, Tamaraneans, Daxmites, Gordanians, Khunds, Dominators, etc.).

If the UP is that big, someone should be investigating how it got so powerful so quickly. Seriously, Mongul would kill to conquer that much territory in so little time. Of course, he'd probably kill regardless, but that's neither here nor there...

I liked the first part of the story. I really liked the armor that Simon used to rescue Keli. I hope that Jess as a Sinestro Lantern is something temporary and she becomes a Green Lantern again.

She'll probably switch back when the battery is restored... but that could be years from now.

I suspect this is one more editorial mandate that Thorne's been saddled with by editorial. Maybe he can make it work. I don't know. I'm enjoying the ride so far.

And, hell, Thorne's actually managed to make Simon Baz somewhat interesting. I really dug his Iron Man suit, which is a great idea that suits Simon's gearhead background.
I don't think it's her obsessing over her fear, it read more to me like it's similar reasoning for when they have Hal take on the yellow light from time to time. she's had a prolonged and intimate experience with her fears so like Hal and Sinestro she's now able to control fear for her own ends; evident by how rational she was looking at the situation and the finesse she has with her ring to take Keli down. I'm doubtful that part was a mandate primarily because i feel they would've outlined something similar and more concrete for the others as well, whose current situations all seem pretty story driven thus far. i think Throne just liked the idea from Future State and decided to roll with it in his run.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

I hope you're right. Thus far, it's working for me, but it feels a little early in Jessica's development to have her master her fears already. There's a lot to be mined there and I wouldn't want them rushing it.

Those are very good questions that will probably be never answered.
