I will never ever understand why Madonna's cover of AP was so derided by music critics. Yes, Dn McLean's original is sublime, but Madonna's take on it is not the horrible atrocity that critics want us to believe. It is actually respectful of the original while taking it to some unexpected musical places. Oh well.
