Congrats to Chad! And thanks to babyblob and Scott Taylor for having voted for my entry!

There were many good covers on the theme this week. I think ChadH winning is a slap in the face.
(that's a joke folks. ) Congrats Chad.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Congratulations to ChadH and Lew Zealand's favorite cover!

And now, what you've all been waiting for the peak of the week where the captain explains what, if anything, he has learned this week. There was a time when the poster cover was rare and seeing heroes positioned generically, even if heroically was rare and we relished those few artistic gems. But more recent days have brought for many generic covered which have little to do with the actual story contained within. A key point for a less generic story-specific cover is the background. Hotshot middle school artists would draw heroes posing and flexing and get oooohs and aaaahs from their young peers. But, of course, the background is important to storytelling and eliminating it should be done for specific reasons, not just lack of time or talent. Thus is was with this week's contest and the great outdoors. There are no special effects here, no galactic extravaganzas. Just simple outside. As in "Put down those damn funny books and go outside and play!".
Thanks to Scott Taylor for the thought.
I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?
Congrats to ChadH!
Congratulations to ChadH
Thanks to worstblogever, Zelena, ed2962, Conn Seanery & Lord Mikel for your votes
The lesson I learned today is sometimes even 5 votes isn't enough
Thanks Kai for a fun contest!

Congrats ChadH. I needed a break, but if the next contest peaks my interest I'll be back.

Congrats ChadH on a well deserved, outdoorsy, slap happy victory that was almost criminal. No hanging chads in this vote count, it was a clear victory, nothing fishy about it at all.
