Just imagine how different it would be if the New Warriors used strategy instead of charging in blindly to apprehend the supervillains. Like for example, Night Thrasher would use the tranquilizer darts to knock out Nitro or Microbe could make Nitro fall sick (and knocking him out) with his germ manipulation powers.

Stories I once tried to do as fan-fiction many years back:

- Doctor Octopus kept his mind intact after his accident and never became a villain, instead teaming up with Spider-Man as a hero and becoming a mentor of sorts, as well as forming the 'Scientific Six' with Reed, Hank, Tony, Henry and Bruce.
- Bucky being frozen and found by the Avengers instead of Captain America, with Steve becoming the Red Guardian instead of the Winter Soldier.
- The Avengers and Fantastic Four joining into one team following their combined battle with Hulk on their first encounter together.
- Korg discovering the Hammer of Thor and being worthy.
- All the prisoners on the Skrull ship in Secret Invasion were all real instead of all being Skrulls.
- Secret Invasion starting during Civil War when Hulkling accidentally discovers Hank Pym is a Skrull.
- Soviet Spy Igor becoming the Hulk instead of Bruce Banner.
- Nick Fury's back up plan in Secret War (as detailed in 'The Files of Nick Fury') was actually required.
- Hulk was never shot into space and was present for Civil War.
- Wanda had truly depowered all Mutants in House of M.
- The Venom Symbiote had chosen Norman Osborn instead of Mac Gargan as its new Host in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man.
- Vision hadn't been killed in Avengers: Disassembled.
- Steve Rogers had survived the assassination attempt on his life following Civil War.

What if the Punisher...became head of a Ninja Clan ? 2019 I picked up the PUNISHER:Shadowmasters trade paperback collecting the origin story of the Shadowmaster ninja clan. The surviving family members ,Phillip Richards, and Yuriko Ezaki, encountered Frank Castle in PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL and the regular PUNISHER book. In issue twenty four of PUNISHER encountered the Shadowmasters and their ally, ninja master Professor Yakamoto. The Professor offered Castle to instruct Castle in ways of ninjutsu, and open branch to train others in the U.S. Castle refused of course. But it would be interesting to see how things would go if the Punisher accepted Yakamoto's offer. And used the U.S. branch of Yakamoto school to carry on his war on crime, now backed up with his own ninja clan. Also trained his Marine Special Forces tactics as well.

I like that one for two reasons.

First, the X-Men would have had two ladies, much earlier on, and not just Jean as the 'token female.' And Pietro joining the team would add a much-needed 'dragon' archetype, since nobody really played the Wolverine-role of 'always undercutting the leader' in the 05. Plus there could have been some fun drama with Magneto reacting to them joining the X-Men. Joining the Avengers was bad enough, but leaving his Brotherhood to join up with Xavier, his arch-nemesis? Ooh, such treachery, that would burn his biscuits!

Second, 'Cap's Kooky Quartet' would have had Captain America, Hawkeye, and two *other* characters. Maybe Crystal and Medusa? Although if Crystal and Medusa, that might have changed how the Fantastic Four evolved over the years!
