DC has got to stop doing that to Cap...

The big thing is they need to stop treating him like he is Wildfire from the Legion. Cap is not just a big ball of energy in a human suit who is going to explode every time he get stabbed. I can't remember if it was Kingdom Come that started this or if it had been around before that, but that is just not what Cap is. They need to bring back the aspect of his powers where he can appear human again too by manipulating his metal covering. Somewhere along the line writer seem to have forgotten Cap can do that. It also wouldn't hurt to remember Cap had a family until he was bounced 20 years into his future, and the man that ruined his life, Gen Wade Eiling, married his wife and raised his kids.

I really appreciate that they got his coloring right and hey - he didn't blow up! They left that to Major Force and Cap absorbed the energy. And while he started out as a government stooge, he came around during the fight.

I really appreciate that they got his coloring right and hey - he didn't blow up! They left that to Major Force and Cap absorbed the energy. And while he started out as a government stooge, he came around during the fight.

I remember him being chairman of the League in season 2 of Young Justice, although he was mostly reacting to stuff outside his control and then just happily handed the reins to Black Canary by the end...

Agreed. The McGuinness artwork translates rather well to animation (IMHO):

Not quite. Last times I saw Cap, he had his 80's look. And he even had a mini-series that put that look to rest.

Tha look hardly even lasted the six issue mini-series (personally, I find it quite bland. Maybe if he had gloves and boots). Cap was taken out of the board in the first issue of the L.A.W mini-series and came out with his Alex Ross Kingdom Come look at the end of it.

Post Rebirth they went back to NU 52 looks so yes, ignoring his latest mini series during rebirth. He died in death metal with the NU 52 look. In current books he is rocking the NU52 look.
