LordMikel for referencing the best 80's cartoons crossover ever! I'm still holding out for an official Mumm-ator figure.

Isn't it though? And that would be a cool figure.

    Iron Maiden gets my voite.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Congratulations to IM. That might be the most famous Prince Valiant page ever. And a bit of trivia, the original was owned by comics legend Al Williamson.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Congratulations to Iron Maiden for a wonderful cover and a most valiant effort which served to foster some erudite conversation. On a personal note, the armor doesn't necessarily make it a Doom cover.

As for the peak of the week and what the captain has learned, it is painfully clear the captain's personal experiences mean nothing here. I will probably continue to use examples from my own life to post when they fit. BTW, I do NOT have a frog suit. At least not one with springs in the feet. Anyway, back to the lesson. This contest is about the greatness and appeal of covers and not a forum to talk about ourselves. I will try to remember that. But be warned I will not be putting a lot of effort into that.

Bridges though are a powerful symbol whether looked at visually or as a tool to bring two sides together. I believe most, if not all, of us have actual physical bridges we use often and some of those are huge landmarks. It is something else we can use to connect.

Wow....I just logged in and read WPP's email!

Thanks to Worstblogever, Kai "the spy", Riv86672, seismic-2, and LordMikel for your votes and helping honor one of the giants from the past.

I'm going to kick around a few ideas and browse through Chad's log of past winners just in case it's already been done. I should have something up shortly. Going to run a few errands and be back in the afternoon

Wow! What a deep and thoughtful opinion. That really moved me.

Okay, who the heck are you, and what have you done with CaptCleghorn?

He's on a nice big farm where he's playing with all of the other comic book reading captains.
