[center]In agreement with you about Pre-Vertigo, those days were most enjoyable. Gaiman's vision of the DCU was always interesting (IMHO):

The problem is that many of Gaiman ideas such as the entirety of reality being a result of people's collective beliefs/dreams (which goes back to the dichotomy of the Endless defining their opposite so dreams&reality) isn't really compatible with the larger DCU such as the cats ruling the world before humans dreamed of a different world, that the Source/Presence/God is only the creator because of people's beliefs and that the world was actually a different shape because of what people believed.

Edit: Not to mention he wasn't all that pleased when other writers tried to use the Endless (see Captain Atom).
