Do You Miss Alfred?

DC has a weird thing for killing parents/parental figures.

Marvel likes them to be gone but later revealed as super spies or aliens or demons.

I don't see that much of a difference. Marvel has pretty major dead parental figures like Uncle Ben and Captain Stacy who never came back as spies/aliens/demons and DC has their own share of Lady Shiva, Trigon, Talia etc.

Alfred features heavily in the Black Label book "Gargoyle of Gotham" by Rafael Grampa...

I'm surprised no one has posted a discussion thread on here about it..

Interesting . Maybe this is how DC will still keep giving us Alfred . In the Black Label books and in Flashbacks or what they used to call Elseworlds but I guess that now it's Black Label . Also in Mark Waid's Worlds Finest which has it's own continuity .

But I guess that in the main books , they want to leave Bruce alone .
It'll be interesting to see if Alfred comes back next year 2024 in some major event . If not then he could be gone for longer .

I don't think there's any special reason why 2024 could be the year to have Alfred return, unless they change editors or something.

2023 would have been the year to do it since that would mark the 80th anniversary of Alfred's introduction in Batman #16 (April-May 1943).

Yeah good point too about 2024 .
I was just thinking that December's books wrap up the Gotham War .
So we don't know Zdarsky is going to do after MindBomb arc starting in January .
I guess that Bruce will have won the war and he'll be mostly isolated from the Batfamily .
Well soon enough we'll get solicts for January which will give us an idea going forward .

I wish that more people would have voted on this poll on Election Day no less .
It'll be interesting how DC decides to bring back Alfred and when .
Like one guy said , " I want the Manor and the Billions back " , lol 😆
