Default Would an Mutant Avengers team work in 2021 ?

Imagine after the Trial of Magneto that both Wanda and her brother Quicksilver are re-established as the mutant child of Magneto.
Would an Mutant Avengers team consisting of the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, Night Crawler, Colossus, Magik, Firestar and Justice work ?.
I'd love to see Rogue and Polaris featured but they are locked into the new X-Men squad for now.
I know Vision isn't a mutant but he isn't human either.
Add Wonder Man and the series would have a huge family feel to it, though having both Wonder Man and Colossus on the same team could get pretty boring, only one brick is needed.
A title featuring these characters certainly wouldn't be short on stories and drama, imagine the guest stars and villains..
If the Scarlet Witch was given an X team title after TOM who would you feature in the title ?.
I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.

Honestly, I would rather the Avengers and those associated with them stay on their side of Marvel, lol.

It’s 2021. It would be A Mutant Avengers team.

    So in short: no.

    (Sorry not sorry)

    Agreed.

If a gun were to my head though, I could make it work. It would just be with Mutants in actual good standing with the Avengers though or have at least no bad blood with them. Thus this would range from those who were actual Avengers like Rogue, Beast, and Wolverine (though from the sounds of the “Enter the Phoenix” event, even he is sort of in beef with the Avengers. Have no clue why since he sided with the Avengers last time, but whatever) to non-A-List mutants, aside from Jean Grey (who wouldn’t join the Avengers based on other obligations, rather than having conflict with them). AvX and House of M really put a lot of conflict.

Absolutely, Uncanny Avengers should still be an ongoing.

I think Avengers work best as a team that represents multiple corners of the Marvel universe. There should be 1-2 mutant members on it, but more than that should just be a temporary team up.

I would have liked to see Rogue and Wanda co-lead a new Unity Squad if Rogue wasn't already on the new X-Men team

Agreed. I mean, how could there be any doubt with a team/line-up like this...

Yeah, would've been interesting. But this would be a great opportunity for Firestar to have another chance in the spotlight, though.

The Avengers should change their twitter logo slightly for Mutant Pride week once a year to show how open and diverse they are.

Yes please.Uncanny was a great run and unless X-office's endgame is AvX 2 then it can work.
And all the Avengers salt in this thread. As someone who loves both these teams, it's not mutually exclusive.
Although maybe not start w/ Aaron's run.

Yup, the line up was great although we can make some changes since Alex is an hellion and Rogue and Sunfire are X-men.Thor has stuff going on as well.

So who do y'all want.I'd say Storm for a thunder representation and her Sass would be like Rogue's when they first started Uncanny. They can warm up to each other.
Firestar, maybe Hellion and one another mutant.
Spider-man has always been an ally to both X-men and Avengers. He would make a great POV character trying to keep the arguing to the minimum and also show us flaws in both the Avengers members and mutant members.

^^^I feel the same about mutants, at least until their Krakoa cult’s dissolved and the brainwashing stops being a thing.

After that, like WinterCoyote posted, I think Avengers work best as a team that represents multiple corners of the Marvel universe, which would include mutants.

    Can it work?
Yes, anyone saying it can't is only doing so due to bias against the non mutant side of Marvel, and not because there's anything wrong with actual premise.

I guess the question is, would there be an audience for such a book?

Avengers fans seem fine for the most part with more common former mutant Avengers like Beast, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Namor and Wolverine, in particular and perhaps slightly less warm to Justice and Firestar (who didn't really make a big splash, IMO) and less familiar to blink-and-you-missed them Avengers-for-a-hot-minute like Sunspot, Cannonball, Manifold, Rogue, Sunfire, Storm, etc.

But X-Men fans seem pretty hostile to the Avengers (or the Inhumans, or the Fantastic Four, for that matter., and it does seem that Marvel has gone out of their way to stoke this compartmentalization of their fanbase, over the years), and that's more than half the prospective audience, so it's kind of an uphill slog, IMO.

Honestly, I think an Uncanny Avengers would have worked in the early krakoa era. With Cap having to clean his image of Nazi Cap and the mutants who don't want to be on Krakoa having a place to go, it could have formed a sort of Home for those Mutants and a redemption arc for Cap.

Throw a few more characters in there, and you've got a full team rooster outside of Aaron's Avengers and Krakoa.
