Congratulations WestPhillyPunisher, and thanks to CaptainEurope for the vote!
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Outstanding! Thanks to everyone for your votes on my entry! I’ll have a new contest up as soon as possible!
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
Congrats to WPP. And thanks to Tami and Nschornhorst for the votes. I continue to be astounded by the inappropriate things I find on the covers 1950s teen humour books.
And, as promised, here one of the other covers I considered:
Congratulations to WestPhillyPunisher, the one who does so often the tally!
And thank you, Ravin’ Ray for the vote!

Yay, WestPhillyPunisher!

Congratulations to WPP, for a cover that shows what a dick Archie is. Pick a girl already and stop stringing both of them along.
And Betty, get some self respect, he's not worth it.
And thanks for the vote Philly.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Congrats to WPP!
Excellent choice for this week's winner! So many entries depicted shadows as indicators of fear or gloom, so it was an inspired choice by WPP to show us a happy shadow!
Incidentally, I thought it was interesting that nobody submitted a cover from this ongoing, which is about shadows and a girl who can mentally manipulate them:
Maybe no one especially liked the covers,or maybe no one else here is reading the book.
Congratulations to WestPhillyPunisher for a cover which really utilizes the visual nature of comics and their ability to warp reality to add to a scene or characters. Well done, WPP.
As for the what the captain has learned in the peak of the week, he had planned to stay up, count votes, and break a tie late. But, well, he failed and apologizes to the wonderful people taking part in this contest.
Thanks go to everyone who participated. You are a truly wonderful crowd and your participation is a weekly joy for me to take part in. Thank you all.
I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?
Congratulations to WestPhillyPunisher!
And thanks to Scott Taylor and icctrombone for your votes! It remains one of my favorite Jack Kirby covers
