Now a game can come out bad and eventually become good if a dev continues to work towards that. Continuous updates such as with No Man's Sky can do that. A complete rework as was done with FFXIV can also do that. In the case of live service games, the landscape is ever changing and those games have the potential to improve with each iteration.
Final Fantasy 14 and No Man Sky are outliers. Most developers won't give a game that level of support as the smarter thing to do is to cut their losses.

I have the PC version of Cyberpunk. It is a good game and it is the best version of it but it was still a buggy mess. I had police spawn out of nowhere, had my character or vehicles stuck in the environment after minor collisions, random crashes, etc. So many things that got in the way of my enjoyment of the game.

Were they though, or were they poorly managed that they didn't use the time they had well enough and so they ran out of time. As consumers how long do we actually want developmental widows to be. 10 years, 20 years, infinite. We don't actually want that. These delays indicate that the developers are struggling to get this game to a sellable state, and whats more they won't even know half of what they are going to have to fix till they get the game the hands of consumers. As playtesting is no where near as thorough as a global release.

I'm all for developers getting all the time they need to develop a game. I personally don't like it when games get announced too early. How Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4 when it got greenlit and we're more than five years in and they have nothing to show. I hate being left hanging. I don't want to know that games exist unless they are a year away from release.

Consumers need to remember they are consumers. You really shouldn’t be okay with waiting forever. Let developers continue with decade long development widows and the industry is going to find itself with a market that has no new product.

Midnight Suns has been given a December 2nd release date and they announced an animated shorts prequel will air in October.

I've had enough Cyberpunk, Saints Row, Assassin's Creed Unity level disasters to ever complain about waiting. At the end of the day I want a working product

Seems like they didn't have a lot of faith in this game selling without putting popular characters in it https://twitter.com/midnightsuns/sta...63506478088192

I personally would have liked to have seen Moon Knight make it in.

Moon Knight would be good to see. Maybe he'll be a DLC character down the line.

That said, for what it's worth, "Deadpool Suns" did give me a chuckle.

Midnight suns itself is an obscure title. Nothing wrong with wanting to give tis game its best shot at selling

Well it made it so I'm not getting the legendary edition at least. So there's that, lol.

The maps and HUD etc. look a bit like Witcher 3's, right down to the font. Granted, almost every OWG is inspired by Witcher 3 these days....
