Had Held not seen it with his own eyes, he never would have believed it. It couldn't have been an illusion, the ruination of the world he had just seen. The Shingan would not have allowed it in this state. Furthermore, what would have been the point of such a charade? No one here was afforded the luxury of surrender in such a situation.

Of course, no one here would have even remotely considered it either. They had come here for one reason. The salvation of the universe. Anything short of that was unacceptable.

Don't tell me this guy is passively warping the area around him....is his power truly that immense?

Still, neither the behemoth, nor the being within it were invincible. The damage earring showed as much. As did the minute, hairline cracks upon the chin of the Behemoth. Both could be defeated. Both would be defeated.

Like looking at each individual frame in a strip of film as it thread through the reel, the changes across the landscape did not exactly escape Zaofan, one lap around the world after the other. If anything, the training to achieve Kensho gave him something of a tunnel vision, and with each pass, he affirmed his approach, and with it, his target.

"It seems we've got to attack it directly, which is hard to do when it can see everything coming, all at once," he replied, "but just throwing bodies at it won't matter if the strikes don't land..."

"Looks like you've made the mark, which means you need a clear opening to take the shot."

The streak of Crimson Dynamite Comet, amplified by the Wolf's Prowl and veiled with Kaiten brought his Pressure Kicker to incredible new heights.

"Then I'll stop it from moving! Here we go!"

"Eh?" Held quirked an eyebrow as he began to close in on the behemoth. He could not quite track Zaofan moving as swiftly as he was. However, he was aware of the rapidly rising power signature of his friend "What are you---"

From behind, a thin ray of golden light flashed across the battle field, the only warning for what was approaching from over the horizon a Warm, Glowing, Warming Glow.

The trail of energy providing one last burst of speed as Zaofan kicked the God of Reality's body on the followthrough.

Yet with Kaiten shrouding his aura, all the force put behind the kick was transfered, rather than pierce the shell or topple the body over, Zaofan attempted to harness the momentum of that sword swing, to keep it spinning at a fixed point in one place!
Clearly Zaofan preferred demonstration over pontification.

    Oh.....That's...Fast.

Held shielded his face as a golden blade thrust across the land, Zaofan and what could only be a devastating kick, acting as the point of its blade.

Between the blinding light indicative of the intensity of ki, and the sheer force of the winds generated by the impact of the kick, Held shuddered to consider how unpleasant it would be to take such a blow.

    "Nice!"

With any luck, Zaofan stopped the rampaging behemoth dead in its tracks, and Held could begin his own attack in earnest.

Praxat, you find out two things:

1, your tail can extend very, very far (think Piccolo’s arms).
2, your sword is your stinger.

Your attack sinks into the behemoth’s leg, scoring a hit that chips away at its armor and cause sit to be distracted momentarily in its swing toward Sarada. It misses her head just barely. It continues with a second swing however, though it looks like Zaofan has that in hand.

There seemed to be a serious focus on the shards of fragmented spacetime that had been pilfered. So she focused on one, gestured, and squeezed.

One of the ten remaining shards shudders under her distant grasp. However, eventually, it ‘pops’ and reality around it sunders. A great yawning portal into nothing appears, before a long arm reaches out, grasping the edge of the portal. Another does the same to the other rim and a massive form begins to pull itself through.

Speaking to himself gave him focus. Concentration enough to cut through the pain of the temperature extremes that flashed over the flesh, the scraps of fur, and with the surge of sunlight loosed from his fingertip, the length of a full body burn crept raw over his skin. These would have been trivialties, were Koorimaru in his own skin, but now, the asynchronicity between his mind and body made him absolutely livid.

When the Death Ball finally dropped into stone and was swiftly crushed, his Saiyan features sneered as he realized he had the cretin's attention.

"A bit of ki is no vain trvialty. It is the very expression of the soul. Did you presume that changing a shard of the spirit would give you dominion over it?"

The Black Holes approached. In response Koorimaru cast a Void Tunnel before him and four Capsule Drones were pulled up in formation before him.

"That you would win a battle of wills?!" Charging energy to his hand, the volatile Godslayer energies that remained within him formed the catalyst to disrupt True Magic throught its volatile synthesis of Creation and Destructiion.

The mark was made, straight down the very centre point of the black holes, and with a scream he loosed a Godslayer Death Beam straight down to the God below.

What the hell is going on down there?

Sweat took the young bandit's brow as reality moved in flux. Was this a reflection of the shifting tide of the battle, or was it speaking to something greater with the very stake of it?

It's isolated to the Forsworn World for now, but if this keeps up, who knows what kind of **** we'll be in?

Holding on to the sword, channeling what little power he had left, he'd hoped that in some way, there would be some part of the Creation Energy he could summon from it, use it to help whatever Eva had brewing.

Suddenly, the weight of the blade became that much lighter...and the ambience became, in a spiritual sense, far more crowded.

"...heh, I suppose three's a crowd, but you've summoned everyone here from Arthur to Fife," Jack said to Evangeline. "Well, alright then! The blade showed itself in a time of great need, show me what it's really made of!"
Koorimaru, your Godslayer punches through the first black hole, but the second suddenly expands and starts eating the Godslayer beam. It continues advancing up the beam, growing in size as you can start to feel its pulling effect.

You realize a hidden, invisible, Shard of Reality must have been tailing the second black hole and merged with it to make it strong enough to eat your Godslayer.

    ————

Jack, Eva reaches out and instead of awakening Asha’rah outright, touches Jack and suddenly he feels himself….elsewhere.

Beside him, floating, is Asha’rah and Arthur. The three are in their spiritual forms, gazing down upon the fight below. Asha’rah nods to Jack.

“One big swing, Jack. Show them what Excalibur can really do.”

Her ethereal hands reach out, as do Arthur’s, and Excalibur manifests in the air above the fight. Then it seems to grow and grow and grow, reaching titanic proportions, charged with a massive amount of Creational energy from Eva and all the Guardians present.

Than Asha’rah looks back to Jack.

“The Blade was made by me for Arthur, but it is yours body and soul. When the time is right, you will have the strength to swing it.”

Jack starts to feel his ethereal self grow larger and larger, like Asha’rah had done many times before to herself, and he knows that though a spirit, he will be able to swing the sword and it will do damage to the creature below.

Ochazuke found himself disoriented immediately; though they had shared the same body, the same soul for a time, the fact remained that what she saw through his eyes vexed him.

Witnessing the effect of the shards was different from imbibing them. Having direct contact with them allowed for an innate understanding of their nature. In principle, it was quite similar to the path laid down from the Master of Masters, who had borne witness to this world and knew it to be a piece of a vast expanse. Life, Death, Change, Illumination, they were, all of it, set in motion within all things, for those who had the wit to perceive them.

Kaibyo held the shard in her fingertips. They were strangely bloodless now, and the wounds seemed to have left the body that was now his own. She had always been a quick study, yet some part of him remained wanting for her guidance.

"A technique to combat monsters, that's what was passed on to us," she started. "And yet, the moment there were no more battles to be had, mankind set their eyes elsewhere."

But for Ochazuke, none of that mattered to him. All this time, it was always her back he was chasing. Now that he had finally reached Kaibyo and stood before her, he had the strength to finally look her in the eyes once again, and he found the rapture of guilt that seized his memories of the day she left him had softened.

"There isn't much more to martial arts than this. On the other hand, there are other ways for someone to realize the vastness of their potential, if you're paying attention..."

Now, he found a perfect, bitter stillness. There were no words, for she already knew everything that carried him forth till this time.

"...I wonder which of you will crack a smile first, you or my sister?"

    "Cheh."

Reflexively, she yawned to conceal the tears.

"One day, we will be reunited. Until then, know that right now, the hopes of the universe are united as one."

Seizing the shard of reality she had passed to him, Ochazuke felt the souls of the Martial Lineage pass along with it, and with his return to his own self, this wretched battlefield, among the cacophony of voices and the clashes of the assembly of summoned spirits, Kaibyo's voice began to thin.

    "What must I do..."

"Go forth, and don't look back."

The path to the God of Reality's power were of a nature that could scarcely be comprehended. A touch changed a form, and the greater the energy cast into it, the wider spread its effect, nigh infinite in possibility. Yet now that he held but a portion of it in his hand, he felt its resonance in the very makeup of the world.

Rooting his stance, he began to draw upon the God's very planet itself.

A Genki technique aided through the bonds of Heka that flowed through the host of martial heirs behind him.
Ocahzuke pulls, the power comes to him, and it fills faster than ever before. Far faster, in fact.

He sees the blow Zaofan lands, sees Held preparing a shot, sees the ethereal essence of Jack and Excalibur high above. Sees the strange portal Efrideet has created not too far away. He see Praxat and Koorimaru and everyone.

He sees the battlefield, sees the confusion and even fear the new god has.

He sees and pulls the energy, Heka and even traces of reality itself as he holds his own shard close.

Even in a battle amongst gods and immortals, where reality itself was torn asunder, a snake, lying in wait, was still deadly as any foe. And so Sahseem had hid himself until the most opportune moment had presented itself and as of now...

Default Signs of Life ~ The End, part two

"If I had not witnessed it, I would be astounded by your cultivation," The Old Dragon said, walking idly in circles around him, "Like turning a dulled sword into a hammer through sheer stubbornness."

He drew another shriek from the boy with a finger jab, "Charging into things with reckless abandon, deluding yourself into believing that pain is an obstacle to be overcome..." Exasperated, the old man sighed, "The Kyōryū Ryū is certainly something else... can't say I'm completely thrilled to see the devolution of the Sì Xiàng."

"If you going to spout nonsense, then please leave me out of it," Charco said, rising to his feet.

"You'll have to forgive me. It has been quite a while since I've spoken to anyone; I have almost forgotten how to restrain myself." Lao Long took a pause before he continued, "You are owed an explanation," The old man stated, "Unfortunately, it is not something that can be summarised into a concise statement. Time is not of the essence here, so we will have to multitask."

Golden light spilled from beneath his eyepatch and a circular symbol appeared on the palm of his remaining hand. Gently placing that palm against Charco's chest, the energy flowing into the boy would be anything but. The heat he had felt upon absorbing the solar energy before was nothing compared to this, his body only standing upright because of Lao Long's hold on him.

"Long ago, back when the humans of your world relied on oral tradition rather than written record, your bloodline should have ended with Bonfi. His fate was to die from a raptor ambush but as we both know, it was the angel who intervened. She saw the potential in his bloodline to produce someone like you who would serve her purpose, but simply reviving him wasn't enough. By this point, Rex has become immortal and there were very few in this universe who would be willing to deal with him, nonetheless a boy on the verge of death."

Charco might have been able to summon up those memories of long ago, but the searing energy of the Old Dragon made it difficult to think; too difficult to do little but listen.

"Islay decided that if she could not find help here, she would seek out another source. Beyond Zenos' grasp, she found me..."
The facade of the Old Dragon slipped and, through the agony, Charco saw Lao Long for what he truly was. Neither eldritch nor divine, what he saw was simply a man.

With a thunderous crash, the last of the energy transferred to him and the pain ceased, although the boy found himself falling to the floor thanks to weakened knees.

"I was your age when my own journey had begun," The Old Dragon said, continuing, "My childhood had been one of devotion to the martial arts. It was one of the few things I could control in my life, the only thing I could comprehend. I had thought I could change the world with it, but even after becoming a god, my achievements amounted to little or nothing. I could defeat many in battle, yet I felt nothing because I had contributed nothing to the grand scheme of things. The angel offered me the chance to change, to escape the duties and bondage of deification, and more importantly, I could seek out the most important thing to me."

Extending a hand to him, Charco took it and rose to his feet. It felt like he had been hit by a truck, but there was a growing sense of clarity; it surprised him how foggy his mind and senses had become. The Old Dragon's words felt familiar, and he had a feeling why. "She bound you and my ancestor together... ugh... great, another hitchhiker. So... what was this all-important thing you gave up godhood for anyway?" Lao Long chuckled, the other's image growing more and more transparent. While he immediately knew the answer, the vanishing figure spoke anyway, "Ayumi, Xiuying, Satomi, and Tomoe: my family. They've been waiting for me for a while."

"Well, you won't find them here. Let's go..."

If Held had been an observer, he would have been mesmerized by the consequent of Zaofans attack upon the behemoth. The sheer force of the impact alone was blinding in its radiance, deafening in its vociferous impact, and nay unendurable in the explosion of sound and ki it emitted.

As he closed in, it became immediately apparent that flying in was not an option. It was as if a destructive wall had been erected, a typhoon keeping others out, and horribly damaging those within.

Still. It was now or never. If it must be braved, so be it.

The Nevadians ki trail cut off as if one had flicked a switch to cut off the power. He descended swiftly towards the earth below him.

    "Crazy Horse!"

A bolt of lightning appeared beneath the Nevadian, and from this bolt, the Lord of The Sunlit Plains sprang forth, catching Held with a casual grace.

There were no further words exchanged between the two, as Crazy Horn braved the storm, dense ki forming around his horn. It pierced the destructive veil created by ZaoFan, if only enough for himself and Held to proceed forth.

In the blink of an eye, three spears appeared.

Timing was everything. If they--if Held--miscalculated, there was no telling how, or even if they could make another opening appear. It was time to capitalize.

In the instant that the Behemoth had been immobilized, spiraling orbs of blue energy appeared upon the tips of the blades.

With superlative speed, the Nevadian flung the entirety of his spear towards the minute fractures upon the Behemoths skull. Then another was released. And another. All in the smallest fraction of seconds, so fast as to seem to have all been released at once.

Even as they soared through the air, they grew in power, the spheres heralding the blades growing larger, and rotating faster as they soared.

    Spiralling Burst: Tri-Horn!

Once the spears made their mark, the burst of energy would erupt on impact, drilling and rending the behemoths armor from within. While they might have struggled to penetrate directly, the opening provided would give Held the chance to pry Sakin from his shell, no matter how unwillingly.

And there it was...opportunity striking and so did the snake. Using Spider's Blessing to hide amongst the battlefield, Sasheem's arm lashed out in that moment in tandem with Held's spear. His strongest attack, the Yamata no Orochi Fist had been rendered almost obsolete with how this fight had rendered reality asunder, so finding an opportune use for it in the battle against....Sackthorn had proven difficult. But now if Held's spear struck true was the time for the Majin's move.

If the spear properly pierced the fallen god, Sasheem would reach into the wound, using his ability to swim through surfaces to help his hand phase through enough until he found whatever sorry sack of meat this soulless bastard called a heart and gathered his energy in the palm of his hand. "The Venom that poisons reality! YAMATA NO OROCHI-FIST!" He shouted, unleashing the full might of his venomous chi into the wound. The ki would form into eight serpentine shapes, each striking at Sackthorn's heart, lungs, and any other vital organ they could locate.

A moment as three spears elongate and appear to be o e continuous line of blue power, striking and pinning through the Skull head of the behemoth like a butterfly pinned to a wall.

Then the skull mostly explodes, fragments going everywhere as the now exposed God of Reality, merged partially with the behemoth in the head, grunts and looks up at Held in startled fear.

Then Sasheem strikes. He quickly learns that the God’s biology is different than the norm, and most of the weak parts seem immune to his strikes. However, two blows aimed at the lungs are off the mark as the God jerks back where he is merged with the behemoth, the damaged earring being struck and destroyed under Sasheem’s fist.

The entire behemoth shudders once, twice, then power ripples and throws Sasheem out as the god wails in pain. Held and Sasheem can see his skin ripple, a hand stretch through his stomach and attempt to breach his skin as if stuck from within. The God reaches down and pushes the hand back in, sweating, face contorting between Grinthorn and Sakin for several moments. Held, your eyes can clearly see the two energies within the fusion battling each other. Grinthorn and Sakin, each fighting the other. One to escape, the other for stable dominance.

It seems without both earrings on, the fusion has become unstable.

The behemoth body collapses, the focus to maintain it no longer possible, and two Reality Shards (of the small amount remaining) emerge from the ground and fly to the God. One strikes his back and merges with him, a cocoon of shifting energy surrounding him as he attempts to gain mastery over the fusion. The other simply implodes and creates two ten foot tall rifts in the air above the cocooned God, from wince an ominous black mist begins creeping in and surrounding the area, obscuring even Held’s angelic sight (which shouldn’t be possible). Within moments hundreds of meters of the black mist has created a massive cloud surrounding the cocooned god and the area all around him, obscuring him from sight and sense.

( Well, crap this sucks. I can't see or sense him. I could attack wildly like a lunatic, but what the **** would I even be hitting?) Praxat thought.

( I could rapidly strike with this tail of mine from random angles, fire random ki blasts, and even do something with this body's ability to manipulate a poison to form a poisonous attack. However, that would be a wasted effort if I can't observe what I'm hitting then, I can't be sure rather or not my attacks will land, miss, or backfire on me. This means there's a huge aura of uncertainty and that anything attack I attempt to do would just be a huge gamble) Praxat thought.
