Zaofan glowered at Koorimaru's closing remarks. "I'll bet you do."
Of course, when it all came down to it, they all wanted to keep on living. The point of contention was what lines they were willing to cross to do it. At this moment, the chef never felt more assured about something in his life...but for the matter of gods - apparently the rather literal matter of a god at that - which lay before them.
There lay Asha'rah in her metal shell. Nothing more than a piece of a fragmented whole, as Koorimaru had put it. Her strange, faceless mask brought to mind simpler times when the spindle of destiny had woven their paths together upon the Lookout grounds where they now stood.
"It's funny, she always had a rather elemental view of things." Creation and Hakai and Hozon and...ugh, all of it still made his head spin, "All of that came from just a part of her, eh? The need to strive to be something more, she was always talking about that, but it seems the more she remembered about herself, the worse it got."
Countless lives, over a quintillion, and the scarring of the very Universe itself. That would've weighed itself mercilessly on anyone, but the particular way her memories played upon her very being, it would have been absolutely crushing; and the realization of what faced them today, he wouldn't blame her if she decided to lay there catatonic.
If she weren't a god and never accepted less. With a pivot Zaofan pried his staff under Asha'rah and rolled her over.
"So hey, what are you going to do, just lay around and take it?!"
The Gotengo now on its way from the Big Ghetti Star, upon the bridge of the great vesserl, one of the Earth's absent protectors began to make a return towards the homeworld. The M-Fighters gathered upon the Lookout would soon need a means of conveyance
The world was not under attack. However things were quite different than they were in years past. In fact, it was about time the world had a return to form.
As the transmission came and left, and beaming across the planet, even from this distance in orbit above the planet's circumference.
Kenshiko stayed on the line, arms folded and tapping a finger on the crook of her arm as she smirked.
"Heh. And what the hell are we, Mr. President? Bystanders?"
"Not for nothing, you're commander in chief after all, but here, let me make it a bit easier on you," she said before taking a short stride forward and flipping the switch on the mobile station alarm.
If Sakin's Clarion Call wasn't enough of a wakeup call, the sound of the red alert siren that had been drilled into the minds of the EDF lit a fire through the fear and reminded them why they were here.
"Listen up! You all know what to do! I didn't pull you maggots up from terra firma to sit around and do nothing, you came up here to train, god dammit! Now that a guy calling himself God's come to screw with the Earth, it's time to do exactly that! Fly straight up into his eye and fill it spit full of lead!"
Claxxons blared across the orbital ring. Something had gotten past them, settled into the Earth itself, and pulled up any number of horrors as they saw in the vision. The alert shuddered down from the Orbital Elevators down, and the forces at Charlie Base began to scramble. Variable Fighters docked on carriers sprung their leg-mounted jump jets, twisting into aerospace craft that took off in silence as they shred past the sound barrier in squadrons.
"One year's work, and some change, that'll be enough! You're the finest fighting force the world has ever seen! Now whow them what the Earth Defense Force is made of!"
From down below, the elevators hummed and shot up into space, and from below the mechanized forces and space-to-air squadrons filed down an express elevator going straight down.
"The Fallen Angel wants to give us Hell on Earth? You give him a piece of our minds, soldiers! You let them all know, this what happens! Welcome to Earth, motherfuckers!"
In some places, they'd already gotten the call, for ancient enemies, centuries old returned to life and were just as horrifically realized in the flesh as they were written about in the myths and legends of long forgotten days. Pity for them, for a quiet eye peered from the endless white outside of the town. Lined in neat rows in the cavalry charge, the demons were using outdated tactics.
Drowned under the battlefield under the spellcraft, the company of knights and the roar and charge, a long shell slipped by almost unnoticed into the column flank, one spent cartridge after another ejected from the antitank rifle and swallowed by the snow pack. Tungsten alloy arrayed with ki, the spin accelerated down the gun barrel, with through each layer of impact, its path slowed with collision until it exploded into shrapnel.
The shooter lay belly-down beside a wicker basket. The Winterberry was tart, but it stilled her hand, and the ki she drew from it made the mouthful of snow easier to bear. The lack of fog from Private Rose Thorn's breath kept visibility down, and the spike in ki raised one shot at a time. Clad in insulated white, she knew the track around Cask better than anyone, where the best seasonal bushels grew, and how things as large as yetis disappeared without a trace.
Now among the EDF enlisted, she'd taken to the task of aiding her hometown as part of the militia. Six years ago, strangers brought them a measure of peace, along with that rogue she later found out was Jack Knave. If he could turn things around, then she and the rest of Cask had no right to do any less.
"If Sakin needs her body for his plan, why not destroy it?" Charco asked, his suggestion simplistic nature not taking into account the multitudes of moral implications that would come from destroying the body of one they once called a companion.
"It's not as if an empty husk would end up in the afterlife and if they did have a way to resurrect it, then they'd surely have better means to summon it to them by this point."
“Kill the body, it simply is reborn elsewhere. At least here, it’s within our grasp. Out there….who knows. With two other pieces I don’t doubt his ability to find the third easier.”
Koorimaru shrugs.
“With the body here, we have one key element he does not. The other, of course, being Inanna. He needs her to help in fusing the three together. So long as we have both here, we have leverage.”

The Khanate is rocked, but their numbers remain strong and vast until more and more join the fight. EDF forces from on high, like avenging angels, fill the horde with canon fire and lead. More and more of the Grey mages start to falter, and the charge quickly turns into a chaotic fight.

"Of course," He muttered with a weary bitterness, "That would be too easy."
The abhuman's gaze seemed to be fixed on the distance, no doubt distracted by the sudden influx of energy signatures; it was like the earth was writhing. Sakin definitely knew how to make things annoying, he'd give him that.
"So, what's the big plan? Play hide and seek with the universe?"
( I know this ship. It belongs to Miras Thane. Hmm, I could test my speed out by travel through this ship as pure electromagnetic energy, but then that would make me an asshole,) Praxat thought.
Praxat then takes off her space gear and walks to the cockpit of the ship.

A dozen armored figures suddenly drop down by Kakarot and nullify the Death Saucers with their Threshljng weapons, dissipating them. The Saiyan smiles wider.
“Loyal Knights of the Queen! Defend her allies in death better than you did in life! Restore your honor and reclaim your virtues!”
The dozen Threshling knights all shout out, once loyal to Auroc and now hellbent on restoring their honor, they rally to Sir Kakarot and prepare to defend this realm.
Kakarot floats up and his aura grows bigger.
“I said, you’re already dead. So why risk this? Death now is permanent, forever. Your hate drives you this far?”
A fist slams into Tundra and doubles him over, before a kick sends him flying.

Parsley could see the radiant glow of the Heka Flow materializing within her ax. From what she saw and observed during Banespell's memories when she spoke with him a few months ago, Cleos could not only heal with that energy, but even raise the dead. She wasn't sure of the particular mechanics outside of willing the power to be so, but it was worth a try. The people laying at her feet fought their hardest without the hope of backup or a savior falling out of the sky. If not for Ochazuke's timely message, the blitzkrieg would have continued unabated until not a single soul remained standing.
Those that fell deserved a chance to relish in the fruits of their labors and a chance to continue defending their home.
She walked through the city, placing the broadside of her ax onto the fallen soldiers to transfer the Heka Flow into them in hopes of bringing them back to life.
