Monica is my ultimate favorite but I grew to like the original through old backs issues as well as the PAD revival. Carols was just something I could never really understand. I much prefer her as Binary.

By default, I'd say Carol, or maybe Monica. I don't care for Mar-Vell and I'm not familiar with the others

Why are Genis and Phyla not included?

For me, it's an easy ranking, mainly because Mar-Vell was the first character that I collected as a kid long, long, long, LONG ago:

    1. Mar-Vell
    2. Monica Rambeau
    3. Shazam
    4. Everyone else

    ^^^Wondered that too.

    Genis is def. my favorite.
Of the three actual thread choices Monica by far. She’s a good character no matter what name she goes by.

Well, it's the truth. I thought Fawcett was genius for combining the powers and attributes of individuals from myth (and in Solomon's case, history) into a single superhero. Sure, it got them into trouble with DC and a jury whose rather generous interpretation of copyright infringement carried the day, but that didn't stop me from drawing Shazam as a kid every chance I could.

Besides, it's only cheating if it affects the results of the poll. Since Shazam isn't a response option, we're safe.

Monica Rambeau is the best one, especially how Roger Stern developed her in his run. It's a real shame that Gruenwald kneecapped her because she really could have been a major superhero.

Teyonah Parris played her well in WandaVision and it's a shame that my favorite version of the Avengers, Roger Stern's crew, will never be properly represented.

Depends on what the criteria are. I probably like Monica more than Carol, but I think I prefer Monica as Spectrum and Carol as Captain Marvel.

Although I'm very much a fan of the original Marvel Mar-Vel, I'm very pleased to see Monica Rambeau get so many votes, although my favorite depiction of Monica is found in Next Wave! [NEXT WAVE! NEXT WAVE! NEXT WAVE! (obligatory NEXT WAVE! fan rave)]. I definitely enjoyed a couple of Carol's runs as Captain Marvel, as well, although both her, and Monica's, depictions lately are of less interest to me.
