Commanders feels really lackluster and lazy, like Snyder is trying to protest losing the old name by choosing a lamer one.

As stupid as the whole "Washington Football Team" thing sounds, it is marketing genius compared to the lame ass sounding Commanders. And since the team sucks (had to go back and rewrite that last part as I wrote their "original" name without thinking), every headline after a loss is going to be some kind of play on "Commanders get demoted".

In much less amusing news, damn, what is it with Los Angeles and San Francisco? LA fans keep trying to murder SF fans. Happened tragically again at the game vs the Niners at SoFi. Guy was wearing SF kit, attended the game alone, and was found in the parking lot, with his cell and wallet still on him, leading LAPD to suspect it was because he was wearing that stuff. He's in his 40s, in a medically induced coma from the beating he took.

It was a few years back where the Dodgers' fans did the same to a Giants' fan or two. One guy was also in a coma...for a year before he finally sort of recovered. Those guys they caught. Whoever did this is in the wind. Rivalries are well and good, but a person should be able to go alone to an away game in any kit they want without getting beaten.

Seems to me they also need to look at stadium security staffing levels, cameras, lights in parking lots....that sort of thing across pro sports.

I really hate this. i understand not liking other teams but this is so beyond the pale. Sports should be used to bring people together. There are so many good sports stories we can get behind to bond that crap like this does not need to happen.
