This is a case where Buffalo really did fail in a way going into the season. They needed a #2 RB in situations like these where games need that power RB type. New England has that as we saw. Buffalo doesn't....
Yah, really a big mistake to not get that extra ground-pounder. Anyone at all would do! It sort of speaks well of Allen, though, that he alone has been carrying the team pretty much. Imagine if he also had a decent running game as a safety valve. As it was, there were quite a few "almost" catches that would have made the difference. The plan could have worked out if just a little more luck had fallen their way, perhaps.

Buffalo also has been facing weaker opponents most of the season. Their defensive line is mostly young guys and so its been defense by committee with no real standouts. The Patriots were able to bully those guys.

Kinda surprised WBE didn't add McDermott to his list, after that game last night. He may not be circling the drain just yet, but I think someone just pulled the stopper out in the bathtub.
