There is no way to change the date of the Super Bowl. Things are planned and reserved years in advanced.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
There's the scheduled week off between the AFC/NFC Championship Games and the Super Bowl where nothing is played. There's no real reason they can't play the Championship games the week before the Super Bowl if need be. It was that way for years before they added the off week between. Delaying a week wouldn't affect the Super Bowl date, just use up that off week.

How about cutting back on the playoffs, just have the 8 division winners.
Too much lost money and lost interest without the wild cards offering hope to a lot of teams and keeping the season worth playing for for teams in divisions someone runs off with. If all the divisions are sewn up early, why play December football? Networks make their money for advertising. Take away the highest rated December games and rounds of playoffs, and suddenly teams will be looking at vastly less money from network contracts, which is the league's main source of income. They aren't going to mess with network contracts. It's why the owners want 18 game schedules instead of pre-season games.

Not only did Urban Meyers get himself fired, but his antics have provided the Jaguars to claim he was fired "with cause" and they are not paying the remainder of his contract. I am sure Meyers will sue to try to reverse that, but I don't think he has much of a chance of succeeding. The strip club footage alone gives them cause to fire him and it seems the organization started a discipline review process after that incident, so the time lag between that event and his firing likely won't matter because the process started immediately.

Yeah I don't think he's gonna win that if he challenges this.
As one NFL columnist brought up , had Meyer been able to win more games he may have been saved in a wild way. Had the Jaguars won like 5 or 6 games and been more competitive ...he would have possibly been kept around. As crazy as it sounds...lol

I had a thought about the analytics and Staley’s reliance on it against the Chiefs…
…I’m wondering if Football’s analytics simply aren’t near refined enough yet to be applied in any way near the way baseball’s were, simply because of how many more variables almost any football play has than even the most complicated baseball play; even a field goal still involves 9-10 more players on both teams than in any at-bat, with input from usually 2+ coaches.
And there’s a good chance that a lot of the analytics might be tainted by outcomes deter,Ned by other variables not accounted for - like coaches and players might be more inclined to go for it when they have other patterns on the day they reloaded either gave them an advantage, or required their best play.
Does anyone know if the “go for it on 4th” analytic accounts for how the linemen have been doing in the trenches that day, for instance? Or whether a defense has been growing tighter in shorts yardage plays?

While it’s been said winning is the great deodorant, I doubt any amount of wins could’ve masked the unholy stench coming from Meyer. As for his contract, I doubt there’s a conduct clause in it that could keep Meyer from getting paid since coaches are supposed to be more adult than players, still, I’m sure he’ll hire lawyers to get his money.

Good for Shad Khan not being patient for once.
As far as the legalities, the strip joint thing... lying to the team and bailing on them... that's bad... but there's no way violating the NFLPA rules by assaulting his kicker doesn't qualify as a fireable offense with cause.
Urban deserves to not get paid.
