I think the Raiders are done long-term this year, hell they were predictably falling off before this, but I could easily see them having a huge rallying moment for this coming weekend and demolishing the Broncos.

He said racist things about the head of the player's union. That's not just a flag on race, it's a burn against all union leaders with the team.
He said disparaging things about players protesting police violence and calling for social justice. Half the league has slogans supporting it on their helmets now.
He said terrible things about the first openly gay player being drafted. His roster has the first openly gay active player on the defense.
He said terrible things about the league beginning to hire female officials. Those same women can throw yellow laundry and might not want to keep the flag in their pocket if Raiders' linemen get grabby if Gruden's still coaching.

Like, there's a comment about so many things and people in his orbit that he was going to be not have the respect of them. And it would impact their relationship with him as a player/coach, as a coach/official... all of the ways apply.

If you work with a co-worker who disparages groups the rest of the office is a part of, they're not going to want to work with them, and shouldn't have to.

The 32 NFL owners are a collection of sociopathic billionaires and moronic failsons and faildaughters so I think the majority would like everyone to look away from their private communications.

I've never heard of anyone but Dan Snyder start treating his cheerleaders like escorts or take nude photos and videos without their consent to creep on them. I know there's dirtbags in the mix. Jerry Richardson got shoved out in Carolina, but Robert Kraft is still considered a "model owner"... dig on Arizona's Michael Bidwill and he went to school with Brett Kavanaugh... like... the Ford family still own the Lions and the patriarch of that family was a manufacturing genius but also sympathetic to the Nazis...

None of them want to hold each other accountable. If they sell each other out on this, they're all f***ed.

    But they should be.

I don't believe female officials would have thrown flags on purpose against Gruden's team due to his terrible comments. There are referees who act above it all with class and don't lower themselves to do revenge. Plus the NFL and referees union would keep a very watchful eye on just that as well.

Had it just been the comment about Smith ...Gruden could have apologized and said he was wrong. That it was him being terrible and he could work to apologize to make it right. Had it been that one instance and for a day or 2 it seemed to be just that. Its just once they went fully into things and EVERYTHING else came out about the misogny , cheerleaders , homophobia , social justice etc....it became TOO MUCH .

Its gonna take years for him to come back. No way will he ever coach again.

He has made enough cash to buy a private island and have his own Spider-Y-2-Banana Republic... some sports site can let him vlog about whatever he wants to talk about uncensored. Something like Barstool or FS1. He might decide to lean into his d***baggery more... but I don't know if he'll go what I call the Curt Schilling route. I think he's just gonna go away.

I think he meant the Green Bay Packers, which is owned by the town.

Keyshawn Johnson had some things to say about Jon Gruden today. Article Link. I know taking anything Keyshawn Johnson says without a bucketload of salt is a bad idea but I just thought it was interesting that he came out so forcefully all of a sudden.

Also, the Buccaneers have removed Gruden from the Ring of Honor.

Yes, I was referring to the Packers, since they don't have an owner in the same sense as the other 31 teams.

The other thing that damned Gruden was that he was given enough rope to hang himself with, and he obliged.

First set of allegations comes out, he gives a limp apology, and the excuses he gave were debunked by a new set of emails released the following day. As well as the fact that he either knew about, or was complicit in serious criminal activity on top of it all,

They could get a QB and a real blue chipper for the OL or DT areas.

My Eagles might well need all three as both the O-line and D-line are aging.

Not sure here either... I do think he's doing a decent job as a first year starter. I don't think the coaching staff is doing a great job of developing a young QB. Not yet anyway. Which makes it so hard to really tell. I think it's the game plan and play calling that is a sink or swim situation.

Personally I think the guy is a winner who works hard. And could be a good to decent NFL QB if given this year and next.

Yah but we all know what a big suck up Schefter has to be to get all that inside information. He's in charge of nothing important and his main role in life is to get paid to provide insight to various fantasy leagues.
