I remember ArabianBatboy on Tumblr complaining that so many people automatically defaulted to Black when they saw dark Damian, but I honestly didn't expect this many. No wonder he's pissed.

To be fair Damian is coloured pretty dark in this.
Even full middle eastern or latino character are often coloured lighter in comics (including Ras and Talia), and Damian is half white after all.

When Tim came out, people at my work thought the headline was about Golden age Dick. One guy thought he had died. Killed by Joker but another explained that he was brought back as Batman's kid on TTGO.

It was to be expected. Webtoon has an astonishing number of readers in their site. As in, you can count by thousands of hundreds of them every day.

This Batfamily might become the the default mainstream interpretation of these characters.

Surely CBR has no way of knowing the readership of these comics. Sales figures for physical copies doesn't reflect the true number of readers. what % of fans pirate instead of pay for comics. how many digital copies of Tec were sold last month?

I like Daniel Cherry tactic so far.

Well, yes. But they have paid content too. And surprisingly, they do have a lot of paying readers. Because it's cheap. Their business is really sustainable, apparently. The key to their success, besides the kind of content they create and promote, and the big community they manage, is the format of their webcomics. They are aimed to portable devices like phones and tablets, with emphasis in their own app, aimed to kids, teens and generally young adult. At least, as far as I've seem and read (I'm not an expert or anything).
