Default Why have they not announced suicide squad 3 or the batman 2 yet

I don't understand why wb won't just go ahead and announce that suicide squad and the batman will get more sequels I mean I get that the suicide squad didn't make as much money at the box office but a great deal of that had to do with them putting on hbo max day and date and it was a great film so why no third film and the batman has made a truckload of money I understand wanting to give matt reeves time to write the next film And all but you have to take advantage of your opportunity here I mean they just announced scream 6 two months after scream 5 was released and I get that is a smaller film but you have to hit it while the griddle is hot if it doesn't come out until 2027 then fine I just want to know that there is another one coming for wb to make it official on both counts that's all

    As opposed to what?

The really pressing need to announce that either of these films will be getting a sequel NOW?

It's not like there isn't more pressing business.

They are waiting on Gunn to be clear for the next Suicide Squad film is the likely guess. He's wrapping the next Guardians film and is set to do another season of Peacemaker right now. The same holds true with Reeves , as they will wait on him to get the next story set and what he wants to do.

I thought they already announced two sequels to The Batman. Or maybe I'm just hearing people say they want Reeves to make a trilogy.

Those corners of DC are totally chill. Gunn's Suicide Squad showed the studio could turn a bad entry around if they got around to it, and even if its box office was crippled along the way, Gunn will have at the very least a couple seasons of a liked show to show for it.

And come on, The Batman isn't even out of theaters yet and is already a big hit. I'm sure we'll get a direct theatrical sequel announced for whenever Reeves and company can get around to it.

The second suicide squad underperform at the box office. I don't know how well it did on HBO Max but the chances of it getting a sequel don't look good.

Peacemaker was a hit so they'll likely let Gunn continue doing spin offs

Announcing a Batman sequel isn't necessary. There will ALWAYS be more Batman, whether that's a new movie, sequel, reboot, re-imagining, team movie, etc. There will always be MORE Batman!

Suicide Squad wasn't THAT good and it underperformed its budget at the box office. Best to stick with spin-offs on HBO Max than to do another sequel.

If it's being made, then what does it matter if they officially announce it or not? It's still being made. You're still getting it. If you know about it now or a year from now, it's still happening and coming out in the same time frame.
