Default What-If: Disney Bought WB/DC Instead Of Fox?

It was revealed that then Disney CEO Bob Iger actually almost purchased Time Warners but AT&T was already in talks on purchasing the company. In an alternate timeline where Iger beat AT&T to the punch and purchased Time Warner(which means he essentially buys Marvel’s biggest competitor - DC Comics) how do you imagine Disney would handle the DC properties? Would Iger get Kevin Feige to run both DC and Marvel, or do you think he simply leaves DC as it is?

Pretty much all of the non-Batman IP would be better suited at Disney than WB. Wonder Woman for example would be huge and would’ve been pushed far more than she is because Disney is great at making content for women. Diana would fit in easily as a Disney Princess.

They’d probably treat Superman with far more respect as well. DC as a whole would be a much better fit at Disney to be honest.

I can't fathom a world where Disney owns both Marvel and DC. I feel like it would just be too much to handle in-between all their other IP's and brands, especially with how competitive DC and Marvel are.

Considering how Disney screwed up Marvel Animation, I definitely don't think that would be something that would improve unless people are fine with lower quality cartoons slavishly following whatever the movies do for the most part or a cartoon that basically just riffs of the movies.

We probably wouldn't get stuff like the DTV's, DC Showcase, Young Justice, Doom Patrol, etc.

I suspect that both Marvel and DC would have limited resources. The financial pie
is only so big after all. There would be a tendency for things to be stretched too thin
    for both.

I think the importance of Superman and Wonder Woman as properties is a good call.
Batman wouldn't be far behind. Shazam would be pumped up as well, with kiddie
    friendly programming.

Fans of synergy would see much of it in the new DC.

Would they try to combine universes?
Would they change a character to much?

Personally the 2 things I would like about it would be that 1) every character would be in a book lol, Marvel has tons of books out with all their characters, if you don't see a character somewhere, even for a backgroujd shot then you will at some point, and 2) characters would be the same no matter what you saw then on, movies, games, comics, cartoons, toys, etc
Created from 2 of the greatest men, made with 2 powersets thst are both SUPER,and has 2 cool asf looks and attitudes.

I guess if they had Disney money DC might feel like they could launch as many mini's and one-shots as Marvel does. Would we see more events?

And that type of synergistic approach can be a slippery slope depending on how rigidly they adhere to it.

Darn, we'd lose out on those great classics of American Animation like: Justice League War, Batman vs. Robin Batman/Harley Quinn, the Harley Quinn show, and Injustice.

But we also probably wouldn't get Death, Under the Red Hood, Death of Superman, Teen Titans: Judas Contract, either of the Wonder Woman DTV's, or literally anything that isn't derivative of the live-action movies.

Derivative of live-action movies or tv would currently mean more stuff that isn’t all Batman or Bat-adjacent like Poochie and the Hot Topic Squad.

And yet, how is "Captain Marvel" (Carol Danvers) fairing at Marvel?

I haven't paid attention in a while, but in the past it felt like her books were floundering a bit.

why do people keep asking about this? Some characters might benefit but many wouldn't and would get back burnered.

Unfortunately, DC seems to have been putting quite a few properties on the back burner (or directly in the fire) all by themselves these days.

Who the hell cares how the 'Mouse' would handle the properties? Fewer and fewer megacorporations are controlling more and more of the media landscape.

Whether they would "do a good job" is totally immaterial. Disney's increasingly monopolistic hold on pop culture is already immoral. With DC and WB under their belts it would only be even worse than it already is - which is quite bad enough, thank you very much.

Not sure about books but in the films ALL of the bootay is what she is kicking. Like, awl of it. And her most epic moments echo whose epic moments in Justice League Heroes and the JLU finale? Wonder Woman's. That gives me faith they would handle WW well because in a sense they already ARE

Would Disney have okayed Superman Smashes the Klan? Because I'm not sure I want to live in a world without that book.
