In that fight, Supes did use heat vision. Slade parried it with his Promethean Blade, absorbed the energy and hit Superman with it.

Freeze breath conspicuous by it's absence.

In their second fight, Slade is actually smack talking by being like "Hey, Superman! You could totally get by my shield if you chucked me into orbit or burned my face off and shit but you won't do that because you don't kill haha,"

So, by and large, they are at least acknowledging that Slade is exploiting CIS rather than implying that he's actually legitimately throwing hands with Supes. Which is a step forward methinks.

That right there is epic-level bullshit.
Just means the actual manufacturer did something unprecedented and gave him a whole lot more than he asked for. ^_^

Regarding the fight, how does Slade handle four bullet-timing arms capable of lifting multiple tons, each?

Would killing Spider-Man a bunch of times in What If qualify me to be one of his rogues?

I'm starting to think you're one of everyone's rogues. ^_^

The lengths that DC goes to in order to make Slade a credible threat to their heavies is mind bogglingly stupid.

At this point, he should have killed Batman several times already (unless that's already happened—haven't picked up a DC comic in some time).

Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

I believe in the prelude to Joker War Batman actually beat Slade.

    Comics nowadays are just inconsistent.

His name is so ironic, because he should’ve been ‘slayed’ about a hundred times.

People jobbing out to the Bat isn't exactly a new thing.
