Default Out of curiosity, what are the titles you always recommend when asked?

The subject heading says it all really but when recommended DC comics to none DC fans what do you recommend? I have a staple four in STARMAN (by James Robinson), JSA (by Geoff Johns), GOTHAM CENTRAL (Greg Ruck and Ed Brubaker), MANHUNTER (by Marc Andreyko).

I always draw a blank when it comes to stuff like this. I’m sure I’m forgetting some series. I don’t know anyone who reads comics or is interested in reading them but this is what I’d recommend.

    Batwoman: Elegy
    Sandman Mystery Theatre
    The Extremist
    Enigma
    Gotham Central
    Catwoman by Brubaker
    JSA: Golden Age
    Checkmate by Rucka
    Wonder Woman by Rucka
The early arcs of the 1989 Legends of the Dark Knight series (e.g. Shaman, Prey, Venom, Gothic)
Animal Man (Vertigo and New 52)
    New Teen Titans
    Starman (Jack Knight)
"It's not my Kate." - Greg Rucka

I thought about Waid's stint on THE FLASH but then I couldn't decide it or Johns (especially starting with #201 and "Ignition") was more new reader friendly so I didn't go with either!

I always preferred Waid and Kelly's JLA and I think they might be more new reader friendly personally, I think I'm in a minority who prefer Waid AND Kelly to Morrison though
