Are they just going to establish Krypto was Kara's first to explain why they get paired so much these days?

Be hilarious if they establish Kryptonian genetics mean biracial phenotypes tend towards the opposite of humans . Don’t think Allura will be black in the book (she does kind of look black but that could just be shading). That said I’m not sure this canon, Supergirl WoT also had a cover of Kara’s parents and they looked as you’d expect there. Maybe they’re just doing something different here?

Oeming is certainly not for everyone. I'll pick up the first issue and see how it goes.

As far as bad art goes, this is FAR from the worst I have seen. I actually like it but I get wanting to see the same level of art inside the book as that which is on the cover.

Really liked this issue, wasn't expecting to like as much as I did.

I was a little iff on Oeming's art (he fits better with more gritty noir-ish stories imo), but he made some very cool stuff here.

I loved Oeming’s art here, coloring really brought out the best aspect of his style: how trippy it can look.




Venditti writes a good Zod as expected, he’s ruthless but not heartless. Jor is good too, it’s a pity that Lara is once again just “there”, maybe that will change in future issues but I’m not holding my breath. Really wish they had kept her New 52 background of being a soldier. Overall another good starting issue for a new Superman series from Venditti.
