So This is the End of My Run for this Year and I like to thank Again for this Challenging being a yearly event!

Thanks for keeping this a fun CBR Tradition Jared!

It pushes me always to see movies I have always wanted to see and find ones I never knew existed.

I always have allot of fun with it and it is a challenge I always look forward too, I was great reading other posters lists and I am Very Proud of My Theme this Year with My DRACULA & VAMPIRE focus going off of my Last Years Lists.

Thank You All for this Yearly Great time and I am Very Proud with What I was Able to accomplish this year, I only originally amide to make 31, but I am glad I got hyped by final days and surpassed the challenge once again!

This is My Final, Full List!

P.S.~~ My Last Movie on the list I finished about 7 mins after the stroke of midnight on Halloween Night, but I remember this happening before about 2 years ago and it got figured it can count since it was in a nearly fully majority watched the movie before midnight, so I kept my last one as well here too. I just wanted to be honest about my last movie and where my challenge came to an end.

    30c. Ghostbusters (1984)

    31a. Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971)

From the title, I thought this movie was going to be about teenagers scaring one of their friends, but then it turns out the monster is real. Then after starting it, and seeing it's about a woman released from a mental institution and moving to a small island with her husband, I was sure it was going to be about the husband trying to scare her into committing suicide so he could inherit her family wealth or something. But, no, it was nothing like that. Just a standard "big-city people move to a small town with a dark secret" setup, with the added twist of Jessica worrying that when she reports the spooky stuff she's seen, her husband will think she needs to be re-committed. That part was interesting, the rest of it not so much.

31b. Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

A solid-enough way to wrap up the season. Plus, it's a new bu-ray purchase, so it's always good to watch those right away and make sure the disc works. (And if I didn't already know that, I was reminded of it earlier this month, when I finally opened a movie I bought years ago)

    And it worked! So yay.

For Halloween night I decided to watch this.

Minutes after Laurie Strode, her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie's basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie's trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes.

It time to reboot this franchise or end it.

As expected, my friends and I ended up watching two movies already on my list last night, Trick R Treat and The Fog, so can't count either, which is fine since 103 movies would be difficult to top next year (if I even bother to make the attempt). Definitely enjoyed participating again for the third year in a row, the month did feel like it flew by way too fast and I can hardly believe it's over already, but I'm looking forward to next October's challenge. Anyway, here's my final list...

Found footage about a group of friends who go looking for extreme haunt tours, and run into people who seem to be taking things too far. Well done but predictable.

    10/31.
Low budget anthology. The third story, set at a roller rink, actually manages to develop a good atmosphere. But even that is bogged down by overly long footage of people skating which just becomes padding.
The movie is briefly intro'd by an Elvira knockoff who really doesn't add anything at all.

I needed this to erase some of the stench from Halloween Kills a few weeks ago. The movie works perfectly because it keeps it simple. I will note that there are some clumsy bits that I think Carpenter would have avoided entirely had he made this a little further into his career.

I'm undecided on whether this or 2018 is the best sequel to the original. Each suffers somewhat in assessment by being tied to what came after them. I still wonder how that hospital can have so few people in it yet be that size. There's a whole maternity ward with babies in it. The revelation that Laurie is Michael's brother doesn't really add much. If not for the scene where Loomis realizes he has to get to the hospital, I think that whole angle could be cut and the movie would work just fine. Michael hears on the radio that a survivor was taken to the nearest hospital and that could be all the motivation he needs. This definitely feels like it was meant to be a definitive ending for Michael. Both Halloween 4 and Halloween H20 just kind of handwave it.

Best new to me movie: Ghostwatch
    Returning Favorite: Ghostbusters
Best Kill: Michael Meyers, in the kitchen, with a light tube (Halloween Kills)
    Best Actor: Vincent Price
    Best Actress: Toni Collette
Best Transformation: Werewolf in The Company of Wolves

UNTIL NEXT YEAR, BOILS AND GHOULS!

Well I got two movies in on the 29th, one on the 30th and the last one on the 31st! Here is my full list for this year:

    1. The Bat (1959)
    2. Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
    3. The Vampire Happening (1971)
    4. The Blob (1958)
    5. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
    6. Magnetic Monster (1953)
    7. Angry Red Planet (1959)
    8. The Blob (1988)
    9. The Raven (1935)
    10. Invisible Man (1933)
    11. Comedy of Terrors (1963)
    12. Ghost Ship (2002)
    13. Return of the Invisible Man (1940)
    14. Forbidden Planet (1956)
    15. Invisible Woman (1940)
    16. The Invisible Man's Revenge (1944)
    17. Galaxy of Terror (1981)
    18. Wasp Woman (1959)
    19. The Canterville Ghost (1985)
    20. The Terror (1963)
    21. Terror Birds (2016)
    22. Fright Night (1985)
    23. Friday the 13th (2009)
    24. Satan's Triangle (1975)
    25. Halloween Kills (2021)
    26. Monster from the Ocean Floor (1954)
    27. Kiss of the Vampire (1963)

    28. Night of the Demon (1957) - Reporter investigating a satanic cult gets marked for death by demon, only to turn the tables on the warlock who marked him. This movie is so full of evil and demonic stuff that I'm honestly surprised it even got made way back in the 1950s. Its on my list as one of my favorite occult movies of all time.

    29. Twins of Evil (1971) - Twins stay with their fanatical uncle and one of them becomes a vampire. This is my favorite hammer movie of all time, partly due to the loveliness of the Collinson sisters, I'll admit, but just the plot itself is more intriguing than most of the hammer fare.

    30. Vampire Lovers (1970) - No idea what the plot was, but it involves a lot of boobs and lesbian vampire stuff. Part of the Camilla trilogy and a kind of boring hammer movie, if I am honest.

    31. Halloween (2018) - Laurie Strode, her daughter and her daughter's daughter hunt down Michael Meyers to try and kill him. Didn't really enjoy it, wasn't into it as much as I was into Halloween Kills. Made me glad Laurie was hospitalized and pretty immobile in that subsequent film.

So there we go another October 31 in the books. Here are some ratings:
